Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Monarchy Majesty Electric Guitar:

This guitar is one of those magical things that just seem to happen, almost as if by chance. The particular model that I brought home I played 3 times over the course of about 3-4 months. I thought about it over and over and finally decided that I couldn't live without it. I am so glad that I made that call. This has to be the finest guitar that I have ever owned. There is nothing about it that isn't right. It is perfect, completely flawless. The design of this guitar is all business, everything about it, everything is meant for nothing but making playing easier. The body is rounded and cut out of the way at every single point that may cause you problems. The body is trimmed back at the top and bottom of the neck joint so that it blocks nothing, the neck heel is sanded down so that you don't feel it at all when playing. The shape allows a nice upper bout to lean on while having almost no lower bout to get it the way. The piezo system is great, it can be on/off or mixed with the mag pups and having it's own volume and EQ allows a lot of flexibility. Speaking of the mag pups they are the Dimarzio sonic ecstasy models which deliver insane power and clarity. These are miraculous, they deliver all of the raw metal power you could ever want yet remain completely clear and expressive at all times. They are my new favorites.

The push/push volume boost is great, it adds tons of gain for solo work or to fatten up the sound, the push/push tone knob splits the coils on both pups when in the middle position which gives that nice out of phase Hendrix thing when played clean. The neck profile is also great. It's almost as thin as an Ibanez wizard but it's not as wide, it also has a bit of roundness which fills your hand as opposed to the wizard which is just flat. This neck shape allows comfort when chording and playing for a long time but also allows you to fly around at will.

    In short, buy this thing!

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Monarchy Majesty Electric Guitar:

This guitar is extremely fast and I love how smooth the tremolo is . The sonic ecstasy pickup's are just what I was looking for . And I do a lot of acoustic music so being able to dial in some really fun tones is awesome. Out of the box the set up was okay. It just needed the final touch for me . This guitar really pushes me to play the best that I can . It's been along time that a guitar makes me feel that way. I decided to get off that marry go round of buying and going through hundreds of guitars . And just never quite what I wanted. This is definitely my main guitar now . I also have a JP 6 . And they do sound different from each other

I also play a PRS custom 24. Very similar feel. The piezo electrics are fantastic.

Comments about Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Monarchy Majesty Electric Guitar:

I saved a long time for this one. They are rather expensive. I do have a few other high end guitars in the same price range. Also other solid body mahogany, The first time I opened the case, and picked it up I was like, wow this is light. Then when I sat down and played it, I seriously think this ruined all other guitars for me. The setup right out of the box was perfect. The neck and bridge took a little bit to get used to but once you were used to it, I was moving and playing faster than ever before.

I got this after work and went home and was only going to play for a little while as I needed supper and to do some things and would get back to it later that night. Before I knew it 3 hours had passed. It begged to be played. The pick ups are loud, and extremely sensitive, but also sound so great. I was quickly able to dial in any sound I wanted.

There are only 2 very minor complaints I had, neither are deal breakers. The first complaint I had is I would just like little more documentation on the guitar. This comes with a 1 page black and white drawing how the pickups are configured. Nothing about the controls on the back, how to adjust things, string information. Yeah most of this can be found on the website and digging around the internet. However it would be nice to have a little more documentation for easy reference in a nice little booklet.

The second complaint is the case. While this is a top notch and high quality case with plenty of room. I would love to see one compartment with a lid on it. I personally always carry a lot of things in a guitar case. spare stuff, the strap, a multi tool, any allen wrenches, business cards. I also make sure every case has this for the specific guitar so when I go I just put the guitar in its case and go. I have everything I need. This has plenty of storage room. In fact it is probably my favorite case because it has so much storage room. However it worries me to carry small stuff that might get out to guitar and scratch.
