seem every epiphone has fret issues. does not matter how much it cost, from cheap to their most expensive they are terrible in the neck and fret department. i also purchase 2 squiers at the same time at have the epiphone price and they were way way better in fret work and detail. really sad epiphone. its not about how much money you can make. take some pride and make a good product.

I bought this used through GC, but I'd hardly call it used (plastic film still on the pickups). Setup and finish were gorgeous. So much fun to play and the resonance you feel through the hollow body gives it a powerful feel. The playability right away was terrific, no settling in to the feel of a new guitar necessary.
Picked it up yesterday- returning it today

This guitar sounds great and plays great. But - the trapeze tailpiece rings quite a bit and it's kinda irritating. Also - the wood used for the fretboard feels weird- almost like it's made out of Masonite or some odd-ball composite. The biggest problem with this guitar is that the frets are rough. Really rough.. When doing a bend or vibrato the strings make a horrible scraping, scratching sound against the frets. I suppose I could have had the frets dressed but to be honest, when I buy a brand new guitar, I don't think it's reasonable to need to have it worked on as soon as it arrives. Epiphone shouldn't be sending out instruments in this condition.
Like better than my LP

Its a few pounds lighter than my Epi LP. Size is about 1" wider on both sides at the lower bout. Not sure if just mine but the action is perfect, nice and low. Sustain on the notes is great, you can feel it in the neck. This guitar made me like semi-hollows better then solids for now. Blue is darker then pictured, but in a good way. Has metallic flake to it. Pickups sound little crisper to me then my LP too. Bought the Epi WildKat case that fits perfectly.
Phenomenal!

Got this after watching a few videos where is just sounded awesome. Wanted a semi hollow guitar that cleaned up but still had some grit with the humbuckers... mission accomplished. Solid craftsmanship, rolled edges, smooth frets, straight out of the box it was ready to go. Just a little fret buzz on one string but fixed that easily.
The most sickest thing Epiphone has come out with.

Words can't describe how versatile this guitar is. I've played hollow bodies and es 335 but the uptown kat accomplishes as a lead and Ruth guitar for alternative rock. Looks like an old Cadillac from the 50's and it kicks soo much butt!!
