The Epiphone SG Traditional Pro gives a classic '60s design a modern makeover. Part of Epiphone's "Inspired by Gibson" collection, this SG combines mahogany construction with Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers for articulate tone with punch. Available with coil-splitting and phase switching, the Trad Pro SG can produce vintage PAF-style warmth or edgy hard rock grind.
Alnico Classic PRO Humbuckers Provide Versatile Tone
The Epiphone SG Trad Pro features a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with Alnico V magnets, which offer higher output and tighter bass for aggressive tones. Push/pull volume pots activate coil-splitting to simulate single-coil sounds, as well as phase switching for quacky, hollow tones. This pickup configuration yields vintage warmth, bright chime and everything in between.
Double-Cutaway Mahogany Body Offers Playability and Sustain
Like the original SG, the Trad Pro is crafted from mahogany, which provides a balanced tone with solid lows, warm mids and smooth highs. The double-cutaway body gives unimpeded access to 22 frets. A tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece further enhance sustain and allow for precise intonation adjustments.
Slim Neck Profile and Rolled Fretboard Edges Enable Fast Playing
Epiphone designed the Trad Pro SG with a slim taper neck and rolled fretboard edges for a fast, comfortable playing feel. An Indian laurel fretboard and trapezoid inlays provide an elegant visual accent. A Graph Tech NuBone nut helps produce balanced tone from string to string.
