Epiphone J-200 EC Studio Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst

Description
The EJ-200 style is simply the world's most famous acoustic guitar, known equally for its majestic look and focused, complex sound. When the EJ-200 was first introduced, it immediately filled a need for a deeper, more balanced and powerful acoustic instrument that could project over stage and radio. The J-200 was a radical design, bigger and bolder than any previous guitar, capable of projecting well beyond that of any other acoustic on the market—a fact that still holds true today with the J-200 EC Studio.
Some of the greatest rhythm guitarists and singers of the last century made the J-200 their primary acoustic instrument on stage (and for record covers, too), including Don Everly, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Buddy Holly and Pete Townshend. The J-200 EC Studio gives you everything great from this iconic and historic guitar without the headaches or the price tag of an original, plus a modern Fishman pickup system, so you can be heard anywhere.
Like all Epiphone instruments, the J-200 EC Studio is covered by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and the Gibson Family of Instrument's 24/7/365 customer service. Pick up an J-200 EC Studio today and become a believer in the King of the Flattops.

A Versatile Beauty
The thing that first caught my eye about this acoustic-electric, is its natural, light finish. This jumbo guitar is substantial in size, looks, and quality; it "feels" like a much more expensive guitar and is very solid. Of course, the sound is the most important thing about any musical instrument, and this is the first stock acousti-electric guitar I've ever seen with TWO pickups: one under the saddle and one at the end of the neck. The eSonic2 preamp system, which I believe is exclusive to Epiphone, is much better than the Fishman, which seems to be the standard of the industry for acoustic-electrics including Martin guitars. With two pickups, and an analog control for each, plus a "slider" to blend them, you should be able to get the perfect balance of EQ/Treble & Bass you desire. It also has a phase button which should reduce/eliminate potential acoustic feedback and is explained in scientific detail in the manual. The on-board tuner is an easy-to-read colorful LED lights perfect for quick, on stage tuning in good or bad lighting. Finally, another surprise I got when I received my guitar, is that it comes with Grover tuning pegs . . . my personal preference and the best (in my opinion).

I havent plugged it into a PA or have recorded with it yet, but it is certainly smoother sounding with some depth compared to the Fender Newporter I just traded into to get this. The neck is a smidge big for my hand, but I have smaller hands, so that shouldnt be held against this acoustic as a whole. But I gave it one less star because of it. Overall, it has a nice lower sound to it that doesnt sound muddy. Although I had to replace the strings that were on it because they were junk (Sorry GC, but they were) and went with lighter brighter strings. As I'll have to go with abit duller sounding strings next time. Anyways, this acoustic will serve as a nice place holder until I can afford a higher end Martin or Gibson.

Looked great and almost in tune right out of the box. I was really impressed with the built in tuner. Sounds great on it's own or plugged in. Found a hard case with no problem at the local store.
