Excellent quality...great sound
I've played guitar for several decades, but this is my first uke. Sure, a "real" ukulele would be more traditional. But this one just looks great. I got the Vintage Sunburst, and the flame maple top is gorgeous. The finish is excellent for a $100 instrument. Acoustically, it's not as loud as a regular uke, but it still sounds good. Better strings would probably help. The tuners are solid, and it stays in tune well. Plug it in, and the sound jumps out. Whether through a PA or acoustic amp, the sound is very good.

Disappointed
Originally, I was excited to receive this ukelele. I had played guitar, but never the ukelele. I received it as a Christmas gift in 2017. The sound was a little dull/soft but I expected that from a cheaper ukelele. Unfortunately, I didn't expect it to completely break after a year of LIGHT usage. I was at bootcamp for 2 months, then at an A school for 4. So I didn't even get to play it for 6 months, but I had left it with someone who I knew would keep it in tune and play it occasionally. Well, before 2019 it was okay. Every time I took it out of it's case it was fine. Took it out today after a few weeks of not seeing it (been busy and hadn't been able to) and the entire bridge is off of it. I really think that was poorly manufactured. I don't recommend. Maybe a good wall decoration, but definitely not as an instrument.

These are not a tenor size ukulele. GC is marketing, advertising, and selling these as a tenor, but they are a concert size. I dont know how that is able to happen?

For what you pay, it works really well. Playing acoustically it doesn't have much sound, so I don't suggest it if you want acoustic. Plugged in, the tone is really, really high. You can hear the pluck of every string more than the string itself, which can be rough on the ears. For the price, I would recommend this ukulele. I do suggest paying more if you can and finding more quality, however. It looks nice in the picture, but it's actually pretty cheap and plastic-looking. It isn't amazing quality, but that's what you get with a hundred-buck ukulele. If you want something cheaper and quick, recommended. It's a solid ukulele for what you pay for. Highly recommend though paying some extra money and buying a better quality ukulele.

Such a great size for my larger fingers, it plays great by itself and hooked into the amp. Some reviews complained about material quality, but i think it's got some great Ephiphone parts. It's a solid instrument not a toy.

Was very satisfied with the sound but similarly to others in the reviews, mine broke after some light usage. And in the same way, even with the strings loosened. Make sure you check your 45 day limit for customer satisfaction policy, they wouldn't accept in-store but only by mail.
Poor construction, will break over time

Had this for around 2 years. Bridge randomly snapped. Room temperature, not a ton of use (gift for wife to start learning). Would not recommend anyone from buying this product. Gibson/epiphone will also not reply inquiries on defective products.

How much does it weigh?
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8-9 lbssubmitted4 years ago

Are the strings of a regular ukulele different from an electric ukulele? Also, what affordable amplifier can you recommend?
the strings are the same, the pickups they use aren't magnetic, they are under saddle pickups for the most part so they can still use the nylon strings. As for the amp, it depends on what you need to use it for. give us a call at 866-498-7882 and we can get you set up with the right fit.submitted5 years ago

Could this be considered a "Tenor Accustic 4string guitar"? My husband asked for that for Christmas, but I am struggling to find the perfect one with the right description. Please help. Thank you.
