The Jerry Cantrell "Wino" Les Paul Custom packs a pair of Epiphone's revered humbucking pickups—an Alnico Classic PRO in the neck and a hot 98T PRO in the bridge—for a range of tones from rich and rounded to aggressive. The Alnico Classic PRO's vintage-style coils and alnico magnets provide warm, balanced tone with enhanced definition. The higher-output 98T PRO, with its exposed coils, delivers tight lows, detailed mids and crunchy highs perfect for metal and hard rock.

Beautiful Custom

I've been playing Les Pauls for a long time now, and I'm seriously impressed with what Epiphone is putting out these days. Reading specs on a guitar will only tell you so much, getting it in your hands, plugged into your rig will tell you the whole story. The story on this Custom is that it's a beautiful, great playing, great sounding Custom that's only a few bucks more than the regular Custom, but feels and sounds much, much better. I currently own a new Epiphone Adam Jones LP Custom (Veil of Bees) and now this Wino. I honestly feel that these are the two best guitars that Epiphone has ever built. I only wish I had bought this one sooner.

The guitar looks and feels great, but....

Mine had problems out of the box. The pickup switch was loose and sound would cut out from time to time, the switch finally failed after about a month. In mid position, only the bridge pickup comes through, not sure if it's wired incorrectly or if the switch is the cause. Disappointed.

    This is a great guitar. Although I am a home player, I have been through several guitars. This one is a perfect balance at a great price. The wood and electronics are perfect. I really like the tuners and it is set up pretty much right out of the box. It looks great too and is backed by the standard Epiphone quality.

    The neck is so smooth and fast. And oh my the alnico pickups sound beautiful. So good at chugging and also for crazy leads. Stays in tune thanks to the Grovers, and genuinely love this guitar so much. Can't forget that it's Jerry Cantrells signature guitar too!

    This beauty here, was ready to play out of the box ! Nothing but good things to say. Fit and finish are phenomenal. Took it out of the case, and played for 4 hours ! Totally lost track of time because of the fun I was having playing it. If you're on the fence about buying it, just go for it ! You will definitely not be disappointed !!

    how much does this guitar weigh? (in lbs)

    All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7.5 – 9.0 lbs

    Hello! I'm planning on getting this guitar in the next few days for store pick up. Just wanna know if it comes inside a box because I'm gonna take it out of the States and don't wanna take it only in the case it comes with. So, can I get it opened and checked before and then inside the box and take it? Thank you!
