Overview

The Hummingbird is one of the most famous acoustic guitar designs and its preference as the go-to acoustic for rockers like The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, pioneer country rocker Gram Parsons, and multi-platinum artist Sheryl Crow is proof that the Hummingbird is a must-have for its warm but pronounced tone that perfectly compliments voices that have a story to tell. Now with the Limited Edition Epiphone Hummingbird Artist you can get that iconic sound in a no-frills all-tone package.

Rock, Country, and Everything In Between
The Hummingbird-style acoustic has appeared on some of the most famous albums in rock history including Exile On Main Street and the Hummingbird Artist carries on that tradition with a stripped-down, just-the-basics look that still retains all of the Hummingbird's vital tone and construction features. After all, it's all about tone and the Hummingbird Artist has got it.

The Hummingbird Artist features a spruce top and mahogany body for a warm but balanced tone that sounds great played solo or riding on the top of a mix with a stinging electric guitar. The easy fitting hand-set 25.5" mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with eye-catching Split Diamond pearloid inlays. That iconic inlay pattern was a break from tradition in the '60s and is still one of the Hummingbird's many visual trademarks. The strings pass through a rosewood bridge with a synthetic bone saddle and the soundhole is framed with a tortoise shell style pickguard cut to the classic Hummingbird style. The 1.68 nut-width is ideal for the classic Hummingbird body shape and SlimTaper neck and holds steady for hard rhythm styles as well as fingerpicking.

Features

  • Spruce top
  • Mahogany back and sides
  • Neck profile: SlimTaper
  • Fingerboard: Rosewood with pearloid Split Diamond inlays
  • Scale: 24.75"
  • Nut: 1.68"
  • Bridge: Rosewood with synthetic bone saddle
  • Case sold separately

I use this guitar for singing..it really is sweet sounding, and does not obstruct your voice while playing. It is also a great guitar to use in dry winter settings as its construction tolerates low humidity levels without going out of tune. Many thanks to the Whitehall, Pa Guitar Center for its expert sales people, and fair deals on every guitar. Excellent service as always.

I received my new guitar yesterday. It came as I was leaving for work, so I didn't get a chance to really look it over until this morning. I thought I would tune it up with the new Fender California Tuner I also purchased with the guitar. However, on the first string, the string tensionor seemed to break (strip) and it would not tighten the string. The cheaper Rogue guitar I bought for my gf's grandson worked perfectly tho. I could have saved nearly 200 bucks for a practice guitar by buying the same guitar for me. I'm very disappointed in the craftsmanship (cheap parts used) in this guitar. It's a beautiful guitar, but don't trust the cheap tensionors used on it.

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

This is for my teenage daughter. Her first guitar. It's an excellent first guitar. Fairly true fretting, slightly thinner body. The included strings are pretty bad, and it needed a setup job, but overall its exactly what I expected.

    Makes Playing Fun

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I love this guitar. It looks amazing, which makes it even more fun to play. In my opinion, it has a sweet tone and the high end really stands out. This is a good guitar for people that love to strum chords and play melodies. Before buying, comments about the action being too high concerned me. However, I haven't had difficulty playing notes or bar chords up and down the fret. The guitar seems well put together.

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I have had this guitar a couple weeks, and really like it. It stays in tune really well and sounds great and pretty easy to play. I did have to exchange the first one I received because one of the tuners had a bad spot in it, but the tech at the store was able to exchange the whole guitar out and have not had a problem since. Great service online and at the store.

Could not even tune the guitar -- gstring tuner broken right out of the box. Very disappointed in the quality control here. I have 4 Epi electrics that are all fantastic ... but this one sux. It also feels very "toy-like"

Comments about Epiphone Hummingbird Artist Acoustic Guitar:

I have been happy w all of my electric Epis-- but this guitar was a huge letdown. One tuner was bad right out of the box -- could not even bring it to pitch. On top of that, the guitar felt like a toy in my hands. Guitar Center refunded me quickly, and I picked a Yamaha FG800 instead, which I am very happy with
