Long Lasting Tone | ELIXIR Strings

Why use ELIXIR Strings

Description
A Soft, Fast Feel That Lasts
Elixir's POLYWEB Coating gives these acoustic guitar strings an ultra-smooth feel that glides over the frets with ease. String squeaks and finger noise are minimized for an uninterrupted playing experience. And because the coating seals the whole string, it retains a "like new" feel for far longer than standard strings.
Premium Protection for Premium Performance
The POLYWEB Coating protects against common tone-killers like dirt, sweat, oils, and grime that can seep into uncoated strings and deteriorate your tone over time. By sealing out these corrosives for the life of the strings, the POLYWEB Coating allows the 80/20 bronze alloy and your guitar's natural tonewoods to shine through uninhibited, so you get the same rich, resonant tone from day one all the way until it's time to change your strings.
Change Your Strings Less and Play More
With significantly extended tone life, these Elixir acoustic guitar strings let you spend less time changing your strings and more time making music. The POLYWEB Coating slows down the natural aging process of guitar strings to deliver longer-lasting tone and playing feel. So you get more quality playing sessions in between string changes, saving you time, money and frustration.

Not as good as I expected...
I used these strings for about a year or so, and restrung my Epiphone PR-150N/A once after hearing that coated strings lasted so much longer than standard strings. They sounded just as bright and responsive as the D'Addario Phosphor Bronze Custom Lights I had previously used, but after a few months the coating flaked off and the strings discolored significantly. Overall I would have to recommend Cleartones for acoustic coated strings.

Not Very Durable
Have used two sets with my Taylor and both experienced premature breakage. Nice sound, but I won't play out with these anymore. Have also used D'Addario EJ15 and Martin Marquis phosphor bronze without any problems.

They're not as bright as the phosphor or the 80/20 which helps mellow out my Taylor 214ce natural twang.
