Comments about ESP LTD Stream-204 Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is incredible. First of all, it looks like nothing else out there; unique but not goofy. Second, it sounds amazing, it just growls. I think it's a bit more suited to fast players with an aggressive sound (more highs and mids than say a jazz player might want). You can also get the action down super low if that's your thing. Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied. Only downside is that it's a bit neck-heavy, so you get some dive. It doesn't bother me, but it is there.

Comments about ESP LTD Stream-204 Electric Bass Guitar:

Great playing and looking bass. Looks like a love child of the Ibanez Iceman bass (which I also have) and a Thunderbird but with a more modern sound. 2 band EQ instead of the 3 so no mid to play around with - not really a problem but bears mentioning. Stock ESP designed pickups are serviceable but I do notice some noise when the high or treble is on full- I'm thinking it's the electronics more than the pickups but could be wrong , when you dial back a bit on the treble it's far less noticeable and disappears the more you dial back. Not an issue with me yet but something I'm going to see if I can do something about it - I've lowered the pickups and it seems to be even less of a problem. The neck has jumbo frets but the neck width and thickness is still thin so it's pretty comfortable. Action can be set fairly low - I've set it as low as it can go without fret buzzing and while not quite Musicman or Fender at it's lowest -pretty much true with a lot of modern basses, its more than low enough to be a bass you can play funk on pretty easily. and still sound great. At this price point, it's fair enough to compare this with an ibanez SR500 which I've also owned- and they are similar in terms of overall quality - the 3 band EQ, the Bart pickups and the faster bubinga neck of the SR500 neck are arguably advantages it has over the Stream but you still have a sense you're getting the same value for the money but in different ways. The Stream has style, and feels like a more solid and better constructed bass, and tonally a deeper low end and seems to have more sustain- if I had to choose one bass between the SR500 and the Stream, I'd have a tough time deciding between these two,
