The EMG 707X pickup has been leading the pack of EMG's 7-string guitar pickups since its debut in 2001, and is now available in an 8-string version! Before this EMG pickup model was introduced, existing 8-string guitar pickups sounded muddy and dull on the low B string, especially when trying to hit artificial and natural harmonics, but the EMG 808X pickup eliminates those problems. Featuring Alnico V, loaded, wide-aperture coils, EMG was able to beef up that low B tone and at the same time provide a more responsive and super-tight overall sound. Whether you are ringing out Opeth-style jazzy chords or playing palm-muted death chugs, even with the amp set to "kill" these guitar pickups will articulate every note harmonically and squeal whatever you ask of them.
