I heard about the picks from an article which featured John Petrucci, Eric Johnson and Mick of Slipknot. They all swore by it so I checked them out. It actually helped re-shape the way I play so after a few Frank Gambale tips & Diminished Chord exercises these picks are the best and have helped improve my precision/playing. I now prefer my long commited Tortex picks for rhythm in their texture/tonal qualities while I'm commited to Jazz III's for their precision and attack on complex compositions. Dunlop is the f#cking best!
I heard about these picks from a Guitar One magazine and from my guitar teacher, and I was a little skeptical about the size and thickness, because I play with Clayton 1.92mm picks...however this is the difference between night and day. The black ones cleaned up my tone, the guitar sounds louder, more crisp, and articulate than ever before. Thank you, Guitar One. and Thx Jim Dunlop.
I also decided to try these picks after the Guitar One article and I was shocked by the size. I thought I had wasted money but then I play an into ro a very complex song that I couldnt get before becuase of the pick size I used before. This pick, when used right will improve your playing ten fold. It works 100% satisfaction.
