Have played guitars for years. Finally got a looper. Jamman XT solo was my first choice and it has proved to be an excellent tool for jamming, performance, lessons, and recordings. I have just scratched the surface of this very high quality looper. I am NOT a tech guy at all and this thing immediately improved by playing time, practice and jamming. Cannot do without it. Experimenting with it last night. Setting up two loops to fade into the other, excellent!

The main thing I was looking for in a loop pedal was to be able to record loops on the fly while jamming with some friends or just practicing at home. This pedal is perfectly capable of this; however, the rhythm progressions to play along with at home--for lack of a better word--SUCK. All of the 9 "rhythm options" are essentially a bad metronome in a hi-hat, kongo, tambourine, kick with crash, etc. voicing. There's no groove, just 1-2-3-4. I believe you can change this to a 3/4 time signature, but having a groove to play along with when I'm playing at home is very important to me, so I immediately returned this for a different option.

If you don't plan on using the "rhythm section" as more than a metronome, this might be a good option for you as you are able to link a few of the JamMan Solo's together to create some more complex loops (a very cool feature). I also like the ability to put an external Micro SD card in for more storage, but I honestly have no need 16-32 hours of storage. I have not tried transferring any of my loops on this pedal to my computer, but I have heard by connecting the pedal through USB directly, you can only use the JamMan software to do so, which has some other "not-so-good" reviews online. If it were me, I would save all my loops to the external SD card and then try to transfer them without using the JamMan software at all (for any of you DAW users.)

Overall, the pedal has some nice features like the "reverse loop" option, connectivity to other JamMan Solo's, and massive external storage, but I've found everything I wanted in a similar competitor. Thanks for listening.

Simple to use but loaded with additional features. The loop storage capacity is great and with the micro sd card it's even bigger. The auto quantizing has been a big plus. It's really easy to get multiple loops timed up perfectly.

I have a looper in my Boss Multi-Effects that's not bad. The loop volume decreases significantly when soloing over the rhythm but I can live with that because I love my Boss ME-70.

I bought the SoloXT to use for bass and drums via my bass amp but this pedal is so unpredictable is pretty well useless. The "drum rhythm" is basically a metronome only and my bass lines, wow, they just repeat sporadically. Bad software? Bad hardware? To me, it either works or it doesn't and the SoloXT just doesn;t. .

Comments about Digitech JMSXT JamMan Solo XT - Stompbox Looper with Stereo I/O and Sync:

I gig as a solo acoustic Act. I have been playing for 37 years. I rely heavily on a loop pedal. I recently purchased this because I exceeded the capacity on my jamman stereo two pedal unit which I kept (thankfully) as a backup. Glad I did. After 6 mos the new solo xt died on my 24 hours out from a very large outdoor gig. It dropped all of my recorded loops and would not accept new recordings. I changed my set list used the old pedal and was ok.
Pluses: I love the features. You can't beat the memory capacity with competitor pedals. Auto quantize makes recording seamless loops easy. No need to use multiple takes to time the end/start just right. Manual tempo adjustments let's you enter in beats per minute which enables slight tweaks in tempo easily. I used the fsx3 foot switch from my old one and I think you need this if you want to use this to perform. Tap the left button once and you end the song. No double stomping.
Minuses: Reliability. Mine failing might be one in a hundred, but from my perspective they are 0 for 1. Had I not had a backup plan I would have been toast. I now bring my old one to every gig as backup. I was able to return it under the 1 year warranty and ended up with a brand new replacement five weeks later. Customer service encouraged me to include my memory card (which I purchased). I did so, and included it with an envelope and a very large note asking for it back. When they finally decided to ship me a new one nobody new anything about my memory card. Go figure. Reviewers are very critical in reviews of the jamman software. Rightfully so. It is not intuitive and a pain. But I was able to spend the better part of a day to transfer my old loops to a the new one in less time than it would have taken to re-record them. Only other drawback from the old model is there is no way to adjust the instrument level coming into the pedal. Great product but have a backup plan, or know a lot of good knock knock jokes to fill the void.

Comments about Digitech JMSXT JamMan Solo XT - Stompbox Looper with Stereo I/O and Sync:

This guy beats the heck out my cheap 10 minute looper by miles, sound quality is very good as well as the loop playback levels. I bought this due to the fact you can store many ideas on it and recall them any time is the main purpose of purchase, this saves so much wear and tear on my recording system so well with it!
There is a learning curve as it is packed with features, I also purchased the foot switch but will be sending that back, I did not find it that essential as I read it was, I use my looper on top of my amp and easily operate the looper.
Very happy with it as tons of storage!

I bought this as a gift for my brother, who loves it. I chose this model because one of my friends has and loves. It holds and remembers 100 loops even after you turn it off and travel, so you don't have to re-do 'em every time. (My non-JamMan pedal forgets its loops each time I turn off.) This one works well and is easy to use. Makes practicing solos and layering lots of fun.

I patch an RP-360 into a Fulltone OCD and then patch the OCD and my phone into the JamMan Solo XT then I patch the Jam Man into my Fender amp. Just try to take my Jam Man from me. The JM Solo XT is a great asset and tool in recording tracks. I installed a 32G micro SD card into the JM Solo XT. I have a spare 32G micro SD card so, I have about 100 hrs of looping time. This JM has 9 adjustable rythym tracks and all of this in such a small package. Buy one, you can't live without one.

Comments about Digitech JMSXT JamMan Solo XT - Stompbox Looper with Stereo I/O and Sync:

This is a great looper. You're gonna want to buy the optional footswitch. This allows you to access the loops without bending down to do it manually by hand. I purchased a 16 gb memory card to store a couple of hours of loops. I play in an acoustic duo with a singer who doesn't play an instrument. This allows me to store an acoustic guitar track of every song we do, so I can play my electric along with it and do fills and solos. If you buy it, be aware that to access the external memory card, you need to forward to track #200. That's why you need the footswitch. You can store about 30 minutes of loops without a memory card.
The sound quality is excellent coming out of the pedal into a pa or fishman acoustic amp.

Well built unit all around. I bought the optional FSX footswitch , and added a memory card to mine. I play in an acoustic duo. With the memory card , this allowed me to prerecord complete songs on acoustic or electric guitar ,and then play them back thru my Fishman amp with my partner singing and me playing my electric on top of the acoustic track. Without the card, you can get about 35 minutes of loops, with a 32GB card, you can add a couple of hours of songs. Note , when you add a micro card, put a piece of tape over it , cause I lost one when I moved it for a gig. The footswitch is a worthy investment, because you don't have to bend down to advance the loop number. These are great !

I like everything about it except it doesn't work. This is the third DigiTech device I've returned. I'm going to take it back to GC tomorrow and hopefully it's within 45 days or I bought the extended warranty. I'm going to be upset either way and pretty sure this is the last DigiTech product I buy.
