The original Evolution bridge guitar pickup did exactly what Steve Vai wanted it to do: kick butt and produce serious scream. The Evo 2 DP215 bridge pickup was designed to be more complex -- the same basic tone with increased headroom and dynamics, so that the sound kills on 10 and cleans up when the volume is rolled down. With a little less power than the original Evolution, Evo 2 balances perfectly with the Evolution neck model and performs equally well with high gain and vintage amps.

Comments about DiMarzio DP215 Evo 2 Bridge Pickup:
If you're looking for a bridge pickup with guts, one that will clean up nicely when you roll back the volume pot then this is baby. Plenty of output crunch when wide open yet dial back the volume and it's oh so sweet! I dropped mine into Ibanez RG and it's all I wanted it to be. Straight up, buy one now!!!
Comments about DiMarzio DP215 Evo 2 Bridge Pickup:
Bridge position mahogany Les Paul. Very versatile pickup for rock and metal. Best I have found for dialing in a ringingly clear distortion. Lead and rhythm with heavy overdrive remain tonally distinct. This pickup is not as impressive when played in single coil split. I found it will clean up nicely when backing off volume, opposing other reviews I have read. This pickup will inspire player to improve their skill level as it will reveal imperfections
Comments about DiMarzio DP215 Evo 2 Bridge Pickup:
This was the first pickup I ever bought. It took a lot of research and "soul searching" to finally go with this pickup. At first I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with A Steve Vai sound or a John Petrucci sound (they both use DiMarzio). After deciding to go with the Steve Vai pickup I have to say I'm loving it! I know one can't really get an authentic Steve Vai sound without spending $5000 on effects and $3000 on a guitar, but when I play with my DiMarzio pickup I can definitely hear a little bit of the Vai. This pickup sounds amazing! Even though I'm only a beginner, plus I soldered it in a cheapo guitar that you cant even find on the internet, it is an Ibanez though.I love how clear the pickup is, you can hear every note perfectly, with or without distortion. As for quality? Well it seems heavy enough...Can't really tell actually. Ive only had it for a week. Anyway, it looks great, sounds great, and feels great! BUY IT!!!
