Dean

collapse expand iconDescription

The Dean Exotica Quilted Ash Bass has beauty that's more than skin deep. It goes all the way to the tone. While the ash body and top deliver a crisp low end and the mahogany neck offers stability and responsiveness, there's more going on inside.

beautifull guitar, but is lacking in sound

wood work is really gorgeous, seems the guitar didnt have enought depth and bass to it. Highs were pretty good, and plugged in, it was very good, unplugged was not the best and the action was a little to high for my taste.

I use this guitar as a quieter version of my electric basses. The exotic ash is a beautiful body and it plays wonderfully.

This bass guitar is plenty hang for your buck. The sound and looks alone make it a great deal. The quilted ash is beautiful. Unplugged the bass guitar sounds wonderful. The sound resonates well. The neck is easy to play on. It feels great. I see this guitar getting lots of use in the near future.

Awesome sounding bass. Acoustic is especially helpful for practicing without needing to bring around an amp.

After playing Martins, Hohners, Taylor AB series, Ibanez, Tacoma Thunder Chief, and every other brand acoustic bass I saw, I found this beauty hanging on the wall at Guitar Center and couldn't resist picking it up and giving it a tickle. Best money I've ever invested in a musical instrument. This bass sounds fabulous plugged in and projects enough bass tone unplugged for bonfire jams and beach jams with other acoustic instruments and hand percussion. The pre-amp, on board tuner and equalization controls allow for quite a wide variety of usable tones and the bass is light and relatively comfortable to play. Nice job Dean!

  • Worth the money.

That is the most current information we have at this time. So by all we can see that is very likely to be an accurate date.

That depends on the tone you are looking for. Strings will not make your guitar buzz - buzzing is usually due to the fretboard
