DW Collector's Series Lacquer Custom Oak 4-Piece Shell Pack Natural Hard Satin
Special order: Place an order for this item today and we’ll get it to you soon.

Description
One of DW's newer grain orientation technologies, HVLT (Horizontal/Vertical Low Timber) is similar to their popular VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) shell configuration in that most of the plies within the shell are vertical. This creates less tension on the shell to provide an overall lower note. The difference with HVLT is that the outer poly is horizontal. With more tension on the shell, it offers slightly more low-midrange frequencies. HVLT comes standard on Collector' Series Cherry and Design Series drums.
It also features DW's patented STM (suspension tom mount) system, which allows drums to vibrate independently, allowing maximum resonance while securely holding the drum in place. Because there are no washers or grommets inhibiting the lug rod receiver, choking is reduced and tuning is as easy as ever. To give drummers even more control over their sound, DW created its patented True-Pitch rod system. The rods feature 5mm threads rather than the 12/24 that's standard on most other drums. To compare, there is 1 thread every 0.8mm on True-Pitch rods (about 20% more threads), versus 1 thread every 1.05mm on most other drums. The result is a more exacting tuning process.
Cymbals, hardware and snare sold separately.

Drums were advertised as new but weren't. When I opened the boxes, all of the drums had moderate amount of drum stick markings on them. If it weren't for a discount, the drumset would have been returned. False advertisement. Will probably not buy another DW drumset from guitar center again.
