NEON is the second in DR's SuperStrings series. Super bright in daylight, and with stage lighting. DR's NEON strings are so bright in appearance "they look like they are on fire." DR's NEON strings shine brightly under stage lights, and are 100% black light active so they glow strongly under UV lighting. And DR's NEON sound as good as they look. As Joey Clemment from Salena Gomez said, "Yeah they look great, but they sound incredible!"
NEON is the first coated string to make NO apologies. While NEON lasts as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better than uncoated strings.
K3 Coating Care
The K3 coating on EXTRA-life strings is designed for use with standard picks and fingers. The K3 coating can be damaged by scraping against metal. It is important that care be taken when stringing guitars and basses where the strings are passed through a metal block or bridge. Scraping can damage the coating.

Comments about DR Strings NEON Hi-Def Pink Bass SuperStrings Light 5-String:
I bought these to replace the original strings that came on my bass. I play a 5 string bass in a band covering Classic Rock and Alternative Rock. These strings hold their tone. They were a little bright at first, but after a couple of days playing them they settled in very nicely. I practice on average one to two hours everyday. Our band rehearses for typically three hours twice a month and we gig twice a month. We cover songs from Hendrix to ZZ Top as well as Rage Against the Machine and Tool. These strings not only sound good, they feel great, and I receive a lot of compliments. I play with a pick, and I will tell you that the strings will lose some of their coloring around the area where you use the pick, but other than that, I have not found anything wrong with them. I use a black light mounted to my mike stand so that they glow when playing gigs. I get a lot of compliments on not only the sound but the color. When I first used them at rehearsal, I did not tell my band anything. After the first song, they asked me if I had a new bass. I showed them what I did, and man they really liked the new look and sound. I ordered the lights because that was the gauge of my original strings. I have had them on my bass now for almost three months, and they have not lost their tone. I plan on replacing them later this spring with a different color only to mix it up a little.
