Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I bought a new acoustic, the brand don't matter. But let's say its price was in the 4000$ range. I was like "ok, I'll pay a bit more and get some high end strings to put on a guitar deserving the best" HUGE mistake! They look good, I'll give them that. The sound that came out of my guitar was AWFUL. None of that bright "zing" that new strings put out. My guitars low E string sounded like a bass guitar that had its strings on it for a decade! No spring. No highs. Just this dead tone. No life from these strings at all. They were on a 4k instrument. My sons 65$ fender acoustic sounded more lively than my top of the line instrument thanks to these things! I also showed a few people how awful they were by comparing a few of my guitars. Including a Taylor that has not had a string change in 2 years! The wind was coming off the old strings on the Taylor and they still sounded better than these horrible things! In the end they just look like psychedelic spaghetti in my studios trash can. Don't waste your money. You can get a few packs of decent sounding strings for the price of these things. I'm only giving it 1 star for the look. No practical use to a pro musician at all!
