Description

This 5-piece acrylic drum shield can be placed in front of your kit to isolate the sound of your drums during a recording session, or it can allow you to lower your band's overall stage volume by reducing the amount of drum sound in the stage mix. It can also be placed behind the drum kit to reflect more sound toward the audience in outdoor venues. Each panel features a mousehole at its base, so it's easy to run cables for mics or e-drums through the shield.

The five 5-1/2' x 2' panels require no assembly and fit together with flexible hinges, making setup and tear down simple.

Each hinge runs the entire length of the connection, providing better sound dampening than ever before, as well as increased stability and safety.

Awesome, some people are dumb.

I set this thing up all the time at my church every sunday! It is really heavy! Setting it up around a drumset is so simple. All you do is fold it when you put it away then drag it to the drumset unfold one panel then keep unfolding CIRCLING the drumset so it is balanced with itself. This people who say it hard to set up must be setting it up like a straight wall(STUPID) or trying to set it up around a 16 PIECE Kit! This takes me less than a minute to drag out and setup around a 4 piece kit. Even if it was a 8 piece kit. Still No problem. The semi holes in the bottom, really help so you could run XLRs from drum mics out to a snake or mixer. This thing really helps to cover up the drums in the church so we can EQ it how we want it in the back at the mixer. I am sure it will be really useful also if you are trying to get some quality suppressed drum practice in your house if you live with other people.

Junk-Avoid this screen at all costs.

Beyond the fact that these things act like a placebo - folks see it and think the drums are quieter, and that it makes the drummer rely on monitor volume to moderate their own volume, and often end up playing louder, our church purchased one of these screens, and the hinges between the panels started breaking within one month of use. GC would do nothing to alleviate the problem, so we purchased replacement hinges from another vendor for a good chunk of money, but the new hinges do not stay attached, and the shield falls apart and has to be reassembled with each use. Most GC merchandise is quality, but this thing makes me think it is Thanksgiving every week because it is such a big turkey. Just teach your drummer to play with sensitivity and dynamics and you can save the pricey aquarium for the fishes.

    Using this for our church drummer. It does a good job of rolling back some of those high tones from the cymbals.

    When I went to peel off the protective plastic, I noticed that they had cut deep gouges into the plexiglass where they cut the protective plastic. They had used so much force when cutting the plastic that it had caused chips and cracks. I had to return the product because of this. The staff at Clackamas Guitar center opened another box and it was the same way. He said that "that's just how they are Made". I'll take my business elsewhere with a response like that.

    At our church we use it to shield around the choir from the other loud instruments at the altar and of course the drums. And it came fully assembled all that was needed was to open unfold and place.

    Please do NOT recommend placing the shield behind the drums. Not only have you focused the sound to the crowd, but directly into any microphones downstage... and that is an engineer's nightmare
