Comments about Chapman ML2 Modern Electric Guitar:

So after a quick set up, checked intonation (was pretty close, small adjustments made), retuned it and started to play. After 10-15 minutes I noticed I was getting some dead string sounds, looked down and noticed the neck pup had worked loose to the point of contacting the strings. A couple of turns with a screwdriver fixed this small problem, but I began to get the feeling that the claims of high quality at a low price were not ringing true. The guitar is fairly light, and I was experiencing some neck dive, that's not a deal breaker for me, but some people can't take that, just be aware. Even after some hammering the guitar stayed in tune. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bridge was not completely seated in the inserts. Another easy fix, but some players may not be ready to tackle all of the little fixes that I needed to do on the guitar, some may even be upset that a new guitar would need any of these adjustments. I'm not thrilled with the pick ups, they will definitely get changed. I always buy less expensive guitars with the idea that I will be customizing them to my liking. I bought the ML2 as a project guitar and that is exactly what I got. Makes me wonder if Chapman's new factory in Indonesia can keep up with the demand that seems to be out there. I believe I have other guitars made in the same facility for the same price which came to me in much better condition (schecter, washburn). I still have respect for what Chapman is trying to bring to the market, his mission is commendable, but I will have to make this guitar into the awesome axe that it wants to be.

Comments about Chapman ML2 Modern Electric Guitar:

This guitar has a maple neck, set into a mahogany body. There is a reason other manufacturers don't do this. When the temp & humidity fluctuates over time, those woods will not expand & contract together at the same rate, and this will cause issues with that neck joint.

Comments about Chapman ML2 Modern Electric Guitar:

If you have any doubts about what this guitar can do because of the price, then don't worry my friend chapman has you covered. I originally bought this online after months and months of viewing videos of chapman and his gang releasing these last year. But since only one place in in U.S. was stocking them (in minnesota i think) I wasn't able to get the feel of it in my hands like any other guitar i have bought. so i took a gamble and holy heck was i not disappointed. this thing has better feeling and sound than any other les paul clone by far. i have even had my hands on some true vintage gear and this sounds just as good if not even better. im running it through my orange rockerverb mk3. so with that great amp its very easy to troubleshoot a horrid tone from a guitar because there is no way it is from the amp. from the second i plugged it in i was truly impressed. the dynamic range of this thing is amazing. from buttery cleans to full dgenty gain chugs this thing can pump it out. my absolute favorite thing is how responsive the volume control is. i can have my amp cranked full gain and then simply roll back my guitar can it cleans up beautifully. there is no way that when you play this thing, you can know that it is actually less than 500 bucks. neck is nice and satin which help me and my sweaty hands a bunch. another great thing is how versatile it can sound with your string change. i know that sounds like a no-brainer but a lot of guitars, even very expensive ones, can't really change even with drastic changes in strings. since i wanted more gain and sustain i put some m-steels on it and it pushes any amp like a classic hot rodded amp. i can't really say anything negative because anything that i would be nitpicky on, i then remember that i spent less 5 bills on it. because of this purchase i made last year, i have completely jumped on chapman and own at least 5 different models all range in from these cheaters ones to some of the more expensive sigs. love them

Comments about Chapman ML2 Modern Electric Guitar:

Great feel and sound thin body but still has a nice weight. The pickups are pretty aggressive and clear at the same time. The scale length is nice also right in between fender and gibson. Chapman has a great guitar in this one.

Comments about Chapman ML2 Modern Electric Guitar:

I, like many other players, had been keeping an eye on Chapman guitars for a while. When they became available at GC, I thought, great now I can try one out to see if I really want to invest in one. Well that was a good thought, but in reality none of the stores near me had one available to try out. If they had one, it was gone before I could get there, so I decided to take a chance and order one. Unavailable until June. But wait! they just sent me an email that there are some more in stock. So now I was jonesing to get my hands on one so I ordered one. I typically order online from another well known internet company, and they ship fast, so this order felt like it took a LONG time to get here. Guitar came from N Y, I live in CO. Arrived in a box that looked like they drug it all the way here. Crushed with a big hole in the side, across the top right where it said FRAGILE. Needless to say, I was not feeling warm and fuzzy. Opened the box expecting factory box inside with guitar inside that with original packaging, nope, just the guitar inside the gig bag, almost no other protection inside. Opened gig bag to find, to my surprise, a nice axe with no damage. I believe it may have been a floor model since it had greasy finger prints on the body and it wasn't in the original packaging. guitar looks very nice, frets finished well, appears to be straight and neck joint is tight and well done, neck feels good with satin finish. Very minor blems in finish, I didn't even notice them at first, had to break out a light to see them. Tuners okay, nice that it has a graph tech nut, strings will do for now. Gig bag is a plus, probably all that really protected it during "shipping" (dragging, crushing). Will definitely need a set up, and I'm sure I will change pups, but it seems to be a good guitar that can be made much better, which was my goal in the first place. So the guitar is nice, but I got pretty much what I expected as far as GC customer service.
