The Breedlove Solo Jumbo is a professional-grade acoustic-electric bass with a rich and robust sound that emanates from the ovangkol back and sides. That rich tone is further sweetened and warmed with a red cedar top. With a 34" scale length and jumbo body shape, the Breedlove Solo acoustic-electric bass delivers warm and bold sound. It includes the reliable and great-sounding L.R. Baggs EAS VTC electronics with volume and tone controls conveniently located in the soundhole. Bass players set the cadence for the entire band, but it can be hard for them to hear their music when playing in a group. That challenge is solved the side monitor soundhole on this Breedlove acoustic-electric bass. The cutaway body gives full access to the entire upgraded ebony fretboard.
Players will sound better, play better and play more on a Breedlove Solo Series acoustic-electric guitar.
Softer than spruce, with a warmer cast to its look and its tone, Western red cedar has less headroom for a heavy attack, but comes alive—with sweet harmonics and a wide tonal palette—for a lighter touch. Related to mahogany, it shares a focused sound, much loved by fingerstylists.
From enormous West African trees, ovangkol echoes East Indian rosewood in many ways, while being more sustainable. It, too, has a compelling visual beauty, with natural black highlights streaking through complex, interwoven brown figures. And it sounds like it looks, sharing the wide tonal spectrum of rosewood, with its deep bass and articulate treble, but with added midrange fullness.
Breedlove’s pinless Delta bridge is a distinctive element, with a sleek, modern contour that adds an extra bit of unexpected beauty to every instrument. But it also adds welcome functionality while anchoring great sound. Beginners love the fact that string changes are much easier without having to wrestle a traditional pin bridge, and professional players love it for the same reason. You'll no longer have to search for lost pins during a fast backstage string swap. And its low profile makes for perfect right hand damping.
Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability. The finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.
