The Breedlove Journey FS Concert is a true sweetheart, designed for fingerstyle play to deliver note-for-note warmth and beautiful sound. This limited edition model presents the perfection of the Breedlove journey. Breedlove concert body fingerstyle guitars are well-known for their tonal spectrum and volume balance. Innovations like graduated tops, the Breedlove bridge truss system, asymmetrical headstocks and the winged pinless bridges have all contributed to the unique Breedlove fingerstyle sound. With the Breedlove Journey FS they have gone to two extremes to create their most incredible fingerstyle guitar yet.
The top of these Journey FS models is made of salvaged redwood. With Breedlove's bridge truss system they can finesse the graduation and thinness of the redwood tops for amazing resonance while still supporting the integrity of the tops. This allows the redwood to resonate longer allowing each note to swell and deliver a warmth that is rich and beautiful to the ear. Pairing this with their aged Brazilian rosewood which is the world's most efficient tonewood for reflecting the lower energy bass notes in balance with the higher energy treble tones, the ensuing voice of the instrument is one of which all other acoustics will be judged.
Includes deluxe hardshell case.

Comments about Breedlove Journey Concert FS Salvaged Redwood/Brazilian Rosewood Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is the fingerstyle acoustic guitar of my dreams. To get Brazilian rosewood back and sides at this price is unusual in the extreme, and the way it plays and sounds makes it very clear that the craft that went into making it matches the superb raw materials. Every note sings. When you play a chord the sound seems to "bloom", i.e. actually grow in volume for a short time. Whether this is some kind of psychoacoustic illusion or whether there is some kind of unusual resonance that produces the effect, I don't know (or care much). It has excellent balance from string to string, and every note shines when playing jazz chord-melody stuff or classical. It's a Breedlove, so it's fairly bright, but the redwood top gives it a rich warmth that comes out under the shimmer, and the Brazilian back and sides provides a deep thump for bass notes. It plays beautifully, about the best of any acoustic guitar I've played (and I own some very nice ones). This is the best acoustic for fingerstyle I could ever hope to own, and I don't expect to ever part with it.
For balance, it's not super, super loud. This is not a banjo killer for the bluegrass jam; get a Martin D-18 if that's what you need. It's got a big dynamic range, but it's not going to drown out a dreadnought. Also, it came with a buzz on one note (17th fret first string), but I'm not too worried about getting that sorted out.
