ok ok. people getting ready to buy this, or have thought about it, i know you're probably getting a lot of mixed reviews. but you got to see and hear this pedal to truly appreciate it. the dual distortion/gain boost knobs make your sound perfect. from a thrash distortion to a nice bluesy overdrive if you want. and the tone/bottom knobs allow you to perfectly shape your sound, and then your amp EQ can add more to that. it's true you might want a noise suppressor, but that sound, you know that "pssssss" noise, thats just the awesome trying to escape its little orange cage. i play hard rock/inudstrial/rockabilly, and this pedal is perfect. buy it if you want to be really cool.

This pedal is sick. It works for any kind of music. The feedback isn't bad either. You'll just have to turn off the pedal while you're not playing anything - then it is not really annoying. The only bad thing is that it will kill the batteries within 4 hours of use. You shiuld get an adapter.

this pedal is frickien great! you can get a super low distortion sound by using the duel distortion gain circuts, or you can only use the distortion knob to get a well shaped distortion sound! The bottom knowis also awesome, it lets you be able to go insane with a killer Crunch tone for VERY HEAVY METAL! you can even produce an awesome overdriven amp sound with this pedal! If you are into playing some serious metal, then you should definatly check this pedal out! it is also good for playing all types of rock from the classics to alturnative! so go check it out. O and did I mention that its a very resonable price also?!

I bought this pedal today and I have had a hard time putting it down to write this review. This pedal can create so many different distortions! Anything from AC/DC to Cradle Of Filth. The only draw back is the feedback. Its nothing major. On most settings there is no feedback but if either the Distortion or the Gain Boost knobs are all the way up there is some feedback. overall. best purchase i've made in a while

This pedal is simply amazing. This pedal ranges from a slight overdrive to the heaviest of nu metal tones. It fits for all types of music. It will not let you down. This pedal will make your sound explode with sound. I highly reccomend this!!!

When I was reading the reviews before I bought it I was afraid there would be too much noise or such but I tried it out at the store and I ended up getting it. It really is quite versatile and you can play the majority of genres out there. It can play the mildest of songs and be turned up to the verge of heavy but still isn't quite enough to play real metal. The only downside to it is that the bottom knob is kind of pointless. If you turn it down it can be useful but anywhere past the straight up position is going to implode your head with bass not to mention kill your amp. There is some noise produced by it but if you buy any decent noise gate or just tinker with your amp settings a bit, it goes away quickly. Recommended for anyone playing classic rock, or alternative rock.

This Pedal is really good. It can play everything metal and punkish from the 80s to about now. I can play Metallica, to Korn, to Godsmack, to Slipknot, to Mudvayne, to System of a Down, to Nirvana, to Blink 182. It plays everything! It's a great pedal. I love it. It's affordable and is a great quality. It's also easy to change the batteries and to use. There are 4 settings it has in the booklet and you can customize your own. It's the best.

Ok, I tried it at my local GC. Sounded ok through the little practice amp. My mistake, I should have tried it through my normal amp. I wanted a pedal that would give me a range of distortion and I guess it does if you like going from fuzzy to muddy. I plugged into my Marshall VS 100 and it just sounded too muddled. I could'nt get the sound of the chords out of my Les Paul right. If you're into that type of fuzzy buzzing distortion then this is for you, but if you're like me and want a cleaner less grainy distortion, go with something else...I'm sure it wasn't the quality, Boss makes great stuff. My fault I guess, it says Mega-Distortion right on the box...

Its a very good pedal for its purpose. The distortion sounds excellent for a wide variety of music so if you play anything from metal to punk, this is a great pedal for you. The only thing i didnt like is that if your amp is loud enough, then there's really heavy, piercing feedback if the pedal is on and you arent playing. So you have to turn off the pedal whenever you arent playing, which can be difficult if you're playing a song that has short little breaks in it.

I Just picked up this Pedal this afternoon and when i brought it home man Did it sound great!!! I played through my Line 6 Spider III Amp and It sounds so cool when you put the Amp on Metal Tone and I created my own sound already!! The only down side is that when you kick up the distortion all the way your guitar sounds Smaller and it doesn't have a full tone anymore but otherwise this product rocks I recommend buying this!!!

This pedal by BOSS isn't as good as they're others in my opinion. It's a little TOO fuzzy, your guitarwork hardly shines through, BUT on the positive side, if you want extremely distorted sounds with PLENTY of bottom-end, this is the pedal for you.

This is the best sounding distortion in a pedal that I have ever used. I have had several others inculding, other boss distortion pedals but this one tops them all. Very easy to dial in the tone and thickness you want.

I bought this pedal to give my effects that hardcore edge that my amp effects just weren't giving me. This pedal is great for all types of rock but you have to be careful because it can some times the distortion sound really muddy if you try to give it to much bass. It is very soild constructed and will hold up to alot of wera and tear. Overall for the price it's a good deal.

This pedal offers many types of distortion. From alternative, to nu metal, to metal! Just run it into a nice clean channel and you can get just about any type of dist you can imagine! This thing is built tough and is definalty ment to be stomped on. You dont have to worry about it breaking, this thing is meant to last!

if your into metal, grunge, alt rock, classic rock this is definatley your pedal. I've had the boss md-2 mega distortion pedal for about a year and the only problem has been that it blew my little 10" behringer amp( but my amp wasn't built for metal so thats probably why). overall id say this is a pretty good pedal for the money, also one other thing is that its not always enough distortion, if you like death metal get the boss metal zone pedal.

the pedal is pretty good. not as good as some other ones out there. when your not playing you get a really annoying feedback. and when i turn up my amp, the sound quality kinda goes down. (i have a marshall MG100HDFX/MG412 w/ a slant cab.) but if u play somewhere with a PA, then its probably guna be alright. the most annoying thing is the feedback.

This pedal is awesome for jamming and head banging! This little puppy has a ton of power! If you want to play alternative to rock, this is the pedal for you! I have had it for about a month and it is the best distortion pedal I own! This pedal can match songs by Relient K to Papa Roach! Two thumbs up, fo sho!

This is the first pedal I bought to start a board, and was the only one I used for a while. The features are great, especially with a decent amp, and allow you to play a wide variety of rock. Definitely recommend this - great value.

This pedal is the distortion pedal to have for ANY type of rock, from classic to thrash to nu-metal. This is the pedal all others should be measured by. It is a loud pedal that still lets you hear the true dist. it offers. I play it through a Schecter C-1 Classic with a Line 6 Spider III and it is killer. If you really want to hear this baby scream, get any Marshall or the Peavey Bandit - there will be tears. Try it. Good luck leaving the store without it.
