I bought this Bose S-1 three weeks ago and have done 56 one-hour shows. I do one-hour shows in Senior Communities. It replaced a 40-lbs speaker I was using. The power is amazing! Once I found the right EQ on my i-pod it has the fullness I want. However, I have had trouble with Channel 1 not performing and have had an issue with the Bluetooth channel "jumping" in volume. There appears to be a problem in the fluid increases with the volume controller. I also wish it had a Master volume. The instruction book does not make a recommendation as to what setting (Off, Guitar, Mic) to use when plugging in a mixer. The mixer will increase the overall volume and EQ.

I purchased the S1Pro for use in small worship settings as a solo fingerstyle acoustic guitarist. I love the overall execution of the product: it's small, light and well-designed. Unfortunately, it simply sounds bad. I struggled for a week to get decent sounds out of this unit, trying nylon string UST guitars, steel string UST and internal mic and various sound-hole pickups with no luck.

First, Bose's ToneMatch is terrible. In addition, the decision to change eq based on the unit's position just confuses the issue with Bose's bad eq curves. I found the unit to be very treble biased. It was like listening to a severely over-compressed signal - lots of high frequency noise and artifacts. We a/b'd the S1 against a (much cheaper) Fender Acoustasonic with several different guitars and the Fender won hands-down with every instrument.

I returned the unit and the pro-audio guys shared that they didn't have a particularly positive opinion about the S1 either. I ended up trading it for a Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge that sounds MUCH better.

The S1 is a new unit. Do yourself a favor and check out the Bose Professional forums. There's also quite a bit of discussion by those who use this unit for amplifying recorded music that indicats problems with low-frequency distortion. YMMV but for me the S1 didn't measure up.

Comments about Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered PA System:

Omg omg omg!!! I've owned a pair of Bose L1model 1 for 2 years a couple of years ago with a pair of B1 subs. Then, I upgraded to the L1 model 2 with the same subs. Now, I decided to add a pair of these, since some of my bigger gigs, the L1 by itself didn't quite cut it. In addition, the majority of gigs that I do are either medium venues or large but quiet audiences. THESE ARE PERFECT! They sound great and have just enough bass to dance to. If I were a Dj though, I def would add a 15 inch powered subwoofer. The weight of 15lbs, and the small space they take up, make them a no brainer for me. Everyone that I've played for has been skeptical until they heard them. You'll be surprised. With guitar centers generous 45 day return policy, what's the risk? Try em, I'll bet you that you don't return them

This speaker is going to make wedding ceremonies and cocktail setups so much easier. I used it for a Bridal Fair for background music and the sound was amazing! It was running of the battery for 5 hours and still had 50% left. I like it so much I bought another one.

Comments about Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered PA System:

I'm a Jazz vocalist, and I've used the S1 Pro for a few weeks, and it sounds pretty good. I could have used a master volume button, but other than that it works well. I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to connect it to my L1-S system for additional sound on the other side of a room. I have the tone match, so I'll have to remember to turn off the built-in tone match in the S1 Pro. It works pretty well for the small rooms I work where I don't need the whole L1-S. I actually thought about buying another one and putting the tone match in between to downsize my system even more. Still thinking about that idea.

Comments about Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered PA System:

I've been playing small venues including outdoor farmer's markets, winery tasting rooms, small bars, and cafes seating from 30 to 150 people for the past 15 years. I've had a variety of sound equipment over the years and have never had that OMG this is perfect moment until now.

I had my doubts that this tiny box could do the job. I have none now. I've had the S1 Pro for 3 weeks now and have done 3 shows with it that included a sampling of all the types of venues I typically play, a small winery (seating for 30), a medium wine bar/restaurant (seating for 80), and an outdoor event (seating for 100). The S1 has more than enough volume (I haven't had to turn it up past half way yet). The sound is both clear and warm. It beautifully reproduces the tone of my vocals and faithfully and accurately does the same for my acoustic guitars.

I was concerned that the S1 only has 60 watts but it projects quality sound with better tone and accuracy than a 750 watt system I've owned. For several years I used a Bose L1 Compact which is 130 watts. The way Bose has combined L1 and F1 technology and the addition of the on-board reverb produces a much richer sound than I was ever able to get from my L1 Compact.

So far I've used it mounted on a speaker stand and on the ground in the tilted back position and got just the sound I wanted in both situations. I've run it on the battery for all my shows so far. It's great to be able to pick where you want to play regardless of where the power outlets are located. I have a show coming up at a large outdoor venue (300 people). I plan to use my S1 as my monitor and then run a balanced line out to the event sound system. It will be great to have complete control of my monitor.

The best part is I'm no longer hauling around about 100 pounds of sound gear. At 15lbs I can save my back and get everything I need packed in in one trip. Finally my OMG this is perfect moment has arrived! OK, I confess, a master volume control would be nice.

I like this small wonder. It really push some clear sounds . The crossover is set kinda bass heavy so I find myself dialing back the bass knob to keep it clear. The 6 inch sub can only handle so much. To get the Bluetooth channel to sound clear you gotta tweak on your device itself because you can't do it on the Bose S1Pro

Comments about Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered PA System:

We purchased this for using in small churches and nursing homes. My wife and I sing southern gospel music. we use two wireless mics and with this Bose unit I use a 5" Samsung tablet via the Bluetooth. I have to actually cut some of the bass in the tablet to keep it from being overwhelming in the S1 Pro. We first used it in a church that holds about 150 people and there were probably about 100 people there. I didn't feel this was large enough for this size church so I plugged the line out into the house system. But it was small and even turned wide open on the input you could hear the house system was there but the Bose was louder so the house system just sort of backed it up. The men at the church and a promoter we know were amazed at the sound and the volume. We have performed at the same church last year with a Bose Model 1 Level II system we have. Next night we performed at a church that holds about 100 people which had about 50 people. Here we used the S1 Pro by itself. It was plenty loud. Here I plugged my laptop into the aux input so I could play CDs for some of the other singers. Again it was amazing. Since we used it in a church which holds about 125 and was full when we performed. Everyone heard it fine. Ture it won't rattle the windows but the Bass is strong for a speaker this size and we are tickled with it. This will be a backup to our larger system now that we have the battery in it in case of a power outage.

I use a Bose L1, Model 2 with a B2 bass module for my duo. I was planning on using the Bose S1 Pro as a monitor occasionally. Rarely, I'd use it for a light weight PA. It just didn't have enough "oomph" for me. It is small, light weight, user friendly and very portable. The battery is a nice idea. I'm looking at small powered speakers that are heavier, but more powerful. This particular product seems to be overpriced (by Bose) for what it is. Guitar Center treated me VERY WELL and I will return!

Comments about Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered PA System:

We purchased one of these and picked it up Thursday 6/28/2018. Friday night took it to a singing in a church that will probably seat 150 to 200 in the congregation. I felt like it would be a little small for this church so I hooked a 30 foot guitar chord to the Out on it and ran it to a channel on the churches PA system. The pastor plugged it into a line in on the board so the church PA backed it up a little but you couldn't really tell it. After the singing the Pastor said he felt it would have been fine by itself. My wife and I sang through it with a set of Gemini wireless microphones and I fed the music from my Samsung 5" tablet via Bluetooth. System sounded great. True I did have the mics and the music channels just about wide open. But there was no distortion and it handled the bass of the music great. And it covered the entire room and we had no feedback from the microphones.

Saturday night we used it in a little smaller church, probably holds 150 people. This time I didn't use any help. Put the same mics on it and supplied the music from my laptop. This church we have sang many times with our Bose Model 1 Level II with a single B1 Bass unit. The pastor and people didn't seem to notice the difference. I did have to turn the music down to about three quarters setting. I left the MIcs where they were. We really love this little unit. Now for smaller churches, which we sing in a lot, we will use the S1 and then where we need to be loud or for larger churches we will use the Model 1 Level II with our two B1 bass speakers if needed.

I picked this up because I already owned the Roland AC33 two channel's 8x AA battery powered, etc... Great little machine.. Used it all the time, but when this came out, I couldn't not. (wha??)

I own the L1 M2 systems and they are simply the best for what I do... Which can get large 1000-1800 ppl +

this is a compliment to the L2 series, no doubt.. I used it on my gig {I received the day before} -- My percussionist always says he can't hear himself - although I think he can (he just doesn't realize it)We were in a place, maybe 80ppl max. I sent the direct out to the S1 to him, and set it up(monitor) (it was this little tiny monister :) it's a mini monster.) No complaints. If it works, there's no complaints.

I have a unique requirement and, so far, the products (from Bose, for Pro Audio) I'm using are simply... how do I say it.. "my back is gonna stop hurting"

Seriously, it's FOH/monitor(for "that guy"/ remote spkr(w/ delay, for the crowd, made to compliment the L1 M2 - at least, if you understand this system - IMO - & used solo...
LOL, I've had odd dreams about how live sound "could be" since I've been using Bose. and recording the show. It is a serious set up. It changes the listening experience, the way I see it, anyway & has the potential to capture the moment (see below) It's clean and pure. If you don't sound good, the system... sorry bro, but IT WILL let you know. It's not shy. :) (thank goodness) :D)
Add the T1 and it's simply the best. (I just wish the updated version of the T1 (recently released) would send all 8 ch out tru USB to the DAW... If it did that... I could sell the system over and overt again HAHAHA!!!

If you got the cash or enough gear to sell/trade-off(and pay more) it's 100%.... I'm 10 years in...

                      It's a good investment.

BTW - I don't work for Bose. It simply works. Cheers!

small and light, easy to set up, lacks bass but works well as a vocal monitor, or paried up with a sub.
could use a master volume control

The sound is incredible. I use it playing backing tracks from my computer via Bluetooth and playing my guitar. Also use another port and sing and play. I was surprised at how much I really liked this amp.
