Great guitar for the money!

I own Gibsons and Taylor's , but went to the local guitar center to find a guitar under 1,000 bucks that should be a travel guitar that would not upset me if it got a scratch or a ding. I found this one and liked it from the start. The neck is a bit narrow for me but still very playable. The description suggests solid mahogany sides and back, but one of the reviews suggests they are laminated. The sound when played sounds like solid wood.

This guitar is great out of box. No setup needed. Action and tone are good. Fit and finish are good. Beautiful wine red color is eye catching. It sounds great unplugged and through amp.

Played great right out of box. Have the walnut gd51 with no amp or cutaway and hardly notice a difference unplugged. Taks are great in this price range.

I was after a Jumbo guitar because I wanted bigger sound. The day I went into GC the did not have a jumbo guitar in stock to play. i have also always wanted a red acoustic guitar. I picked up the Trans red G Series GD30CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. I was blown away by how much and how sweet the sound was. it was comfortable to play as well. I have bought as lot of guitars, new and used this is the first acoustic that needed NO SETUP. I am amazed by how ready it was out of the box. 3 weeks now and it is getting the most play of my collection.

I needed a guitar to take to parties and to gig with. I learned you don't take your custom instruments to either. I can only speak of the one I got, but the wood on this guitar is fantastic. Top has great cross grain and the mahogany is a nice tight grain. The tone is bright and sparkling, it is just a little weak in the mids. The action came a little high, it was playable but I lowered it just a tad. Overall construction is amazing for a guitar in this price range. Would definitely recommend.
