Description

The next generation of the Marshall DSL series has arrived, including this DSL5CR 5-watt combo guitar amplifier. These DSL amps are laden with Marshall tone, features and functionality for the novice, as well as pros performing on the world’s biggest stages. The DSL series includes the following updated features:

Adjustable Power Output
The DSL models feature adjustable power settings, which delivers all-valve tone and feel, at any volume, from bedroom to stage. This technology adjusts power to the valves, instead of just turning off valve stages, allowing the amp to remain articulate and dynamic.

EQ Refinements
Some innovative tweaks to the EQ circuitry have given the new DSLs even greater tonal flexibility. The EQ section of the new DSLs can deliver exactly what your ears are looking for.

Emulated Output
Marshall's partnership with Softube has led to the creation of award-winning plug-ins, as well as exceptional tone in its CODE digital amps. The same team is responsible for the development of the new emulated output feature, found in the DSL series. Both the headphone out and line out on the DSL models, like this DSL5CR combo, boast incredibly accurate emulation of Marshall's famed 1960 cabinet.

Reverb, Resonance and Master Volume
The DSL is now more versatile than ever, with features including discrete master volume controls for each channel, built-in reverb and resonance controls (the DSL1 and DSL5 do not offer resonance controls).

New Models
Additions to the range include the DSL1 head and combos, which offer all-valve Marshall DSL tone in a smaller package, plus a DSL20 combo and head.

Great little amp. The ultra gain channel totally rips! The classic gain channel is sparkling but only breaks up when dimed. Separate gain and volume controls for each channel is super useful, you can really get the most of both channels. The amp is not super loud, it's best for recording and practice. It's only loud enough to play the smallest of gigs with a quiet drummer. That is fine for me, I live in a small apartment. The effects loop is great and really the best sounds I have gotten from the amp so far have been my MXR Joshua delay with the ultra gain channel. I get some really buttery lead tones that really soar. I recommend this amplifier if you want some high-ish gain tones at bedroom volume. #sweepstakes

I just traded my BJ IV for DSL5. I don't gig. The BJ was too loud. I play for my two dogs, if they want to listen. The DSL5 is perfect for home office playing. It sounds amazing at lower volumes. It does get loud. It also gets pretty clean if you need it. Perfect little tube amp!

I've been playing guitar 40+ years and have always wanted a low-powered Marshall for home use. This is the amp of my dreams. Full bodied, well defined cleans and smooth harmonic distortion. The real advantage of this little beauty is that it retains its integrity even at bedroom & recording volumes. I couldn't be happier with it. Highly recommended for home jammin.

Perfect size for the small area. Easy to carry and sounds great! I did add a different speaker though but it was super in the factory configuration.

Excellent for a practice amp. Great tube sound, gain for days, and the ability to switch it to .5w is super handy if you have other people in the house that would rather not listen to you practice. Amp is built really well, foot switch is very sturdy as well. No complaints.

I see it says this can be used with headphones. I've always understood (possibly in error) that you could not use tube amps with headphones with a load on the tubes. Is this in error? Would love to find a tube amp that would allow this if it exists since I live in a small apartment and practice at odd hours. Thanks in advance.
