One of the best amps I've ever played!
I love this amp! I've played a Fender Strat, Ibanez Iceman, Fender Jaguar, Gibson SG, and a telecaster through it. All with amazing tone and clarity. This amp sings/sceams/moans/groans like no other. It can go from crisp high cleans with just a dash of reverb, to incredible distortion. This Amp has the best reverb I've ever heard, and the clearest clean channel. The vibrato is so smooth, and crisp. Do NOT miss out on this amp!

This amp is still my favorite. Guitar center still my least
We all know this amp is good already, if you have the money you should buy it. If you don't you should save or trade up. Don't do it here there. They pay so little when trading in gear that their employees may even suggest going somewhere else. That really happened. Also they want top dollar on all used gear. Try pricing any used item against the online gear exchange site. Oh they got your back with the price match guarantee. Been there. Not a reliable option. They will sqeeze you coming and going and not honor their commitments after the fact so just do yourself a favor a leave. So yeah you should get one if you can and you'll have an easier time achieving your goal somewhere else. Good news is this amp is a tank. They're still around from 65 so have no fear buying used to help you get this a little sooner. The amp weighs like a tank too. The single handle on top will lead you to believe that's the best way to carry it. Don't. Not unless you want back problems and one arm longer than the other. Instead try bear hugging it, or cradle it by opposite corners if you cant get your t-rex arms around it. It will actually feel lighter. I like that Fender reissued this classic but, like the original they should've put handles on the sides. Remember to always lift at the knees and shop somewhere else!

This was a purchase I only plan to do once. I do NOT regret this buy on. single. bit. Yeah, it's heavy. Ummmm....TUBE AMP. These guys are HEAVY. But, the tone......Amp modeling and plug-ins can get close. But, dude....Ain't nothing like the real thing. If sound was a visual...consider butter, melting off the side of a hot biscuit....Yeah.
BEST AMP EVER!

So what.. if it's heavy, use a dolly. So what.. if it can be so LOUD it can make your ears bleed, It works great at 1 1/2 volume and your guitar volume turned down.. I am on my second amp. the first I loved, later in life I sold it.. regretted it, later I bought something smaller that I had hoped would give me that TWIN REVERB sound, in a lighter package at lower volumes.. Many amps later.. and none were inexpensive.. I never could get that "punch in the chest" sound of that twin.. so …. I bought another. turned the volume down and am happy I did. Save yourself a lot of money and get this amp in the first round of guitar gear..
I would buy this product again

I am using this in my home studio among with the UA Ox Box and it's incredible. It's very loud so really suggest using an attenuator of some sort.

Is it good for bass
Simple answer: No. It's has an open back and 12" Jensen speakers and not capable of low frequencies. If you turn up the bass, there's a good chance of speaker damage.submitted5 years ago

I was looking at the brea store in california, considering buying the fender 65 twin reverb 85 wt. re-issue . When scrolling down there is a cheaper price option for an "open box" on the same amp . would that be considered the floor model? Or a returned item? Is that being offered at the same Brea branch? If buying a new one, would that come packaged in a box?
This one is in mint condition. It could be either a floor model or a returned unit. It would need to be shipped to Brea. A new one would come in a box.submitted5 years ago
