Overview

Often copied, but never surpassed, the Stratocaster is arguably the world’s most-loved electric guitar. Electrifying the music world since its debut in 1954, its natural, versatile sound made the Stratocaster the benchmark for exceptional guitar tones. The American Professional Stratocaster isn’t a re-imagining of the classic design; it’s the authentic original model, evolved.

The choice of musical legends since its release, the Stratocaster feel and sound set the world on fire, powering music movements from electric blues to EDM, and everything in-between. In your hands this Strat is ready to navigate the creative twists and turns of your music, inspiring you to express yourself in new ways through your playing.

Developed by pickup master Tim Shaw, the brand-new V-Mod single-coil pickups are voiced specifically for each position, mixing alnico magnet types to produce powerful, nuanced tones with original Fender sonic DNA. Retain high-end clarity when adjusting the volume controls, thanks to the new treble-bleed tone circuit that lets your tone shine through in all its glory. The new modern “Deep C”-shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords.

The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Stratocaster is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend.

I have had my Fender American Pro 3-Color Sunburst, SSS configuration for a year now. I am very pleased with the guitar. The finish on the guitar is amazing. I could just look at the 3-Color sunburst all day long and it still would not be enough. The wood grain on the body is superb. Mine is 2-piece alder joined at the center. The 2-piece of alder match so good on my guitar that it looks they took time to select wood when joining the 2 pieces

The neck is fast, smooth. The satin finish on back of the neck helps enormously since there is less friction than ones covered in paint. It took some time to get used to the narrow-tall frets. But once I got used to the frets, I found that it is very easy to bend.

The pickups are great on this guitar. The Neck position is my favorite for clean tones. I use the Bridge pickup for lead tones. This guitar combined with Vox AC15 is a hard to beat combination. There are two tone knobs - one for the Neck pickup only and the other for the remaining positions. So you can pre-set the tone of your Neck Pickup one way and other way on other positions and can get different tones on the fly.

Unplugged, the guitar sounds very good too. The real bone nut helps with the vibration and resonance. That's how I knew this guitar is a really good one. Good guitars resonate beautifully acoustically too. this one certainly does that.

The most important aspect is how the guitar stays in tune. You can bend the strings up and down all day, but it stays in tune.

And last but not the least, the guitar comes with a solid molded case with velvet interior.

Overall, a good investment and my playing has improved tremendously.

Thanks

Pros

  • Ash Body with Sienna Burst
  • Great Feeling neck
  • Nice Neck Profile
  • Satin back on maple neck
  • The Sienna Burst is gorgeous
  • The Tim Shaw SC sound amazing.

Cons

  • I would have preferred Nitro cellulose finish

Best Uses

  • Classic Strat Sound

Comments about Fender American Professional Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I tried everything from the classic reissue series to the Elite and this Stratocaster had the perfect tone. It's all in those amazing vintage voiced PUs. They have a perfect vintage sound and each string sounds at the same volume so that the highs do not get lost.

This guitar FEELS great! I've never owed a guitar at this price range but you can feel the difference when you play. I've always been a "humbucker" guitar fan and always felt like single coils weren't for me. Now that I have one and have played it, their versatility in sound is awesome. It is NOT for metal players. It IS however meant for pretty much everything else.

Just picked this up today in Austin, TX. All I can say is....WOW!!!! I really love the finish, feel of the neck, and these V-mod pups.......I can't say enough about them. Very quiet on high gain channels, gorgeous, fat tones! I love my other guitar but it will be taking a seat for a good while. Highly recommended!

Comments about Fender American Professional Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I bought my first ( natural ) Strat 46 years ago. Since that time there has been nothing that plays as well and feels like it was made EXACTLY for me. Great natural neck and handles perfectly AND, it is a fairly light weight for those LONG enduring gigs / shows, etc. Even if you have a Gib LP or other Gib product, you need to have one of these in your "stable."

Comments about Fender American Professional Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

The real deal. I finally got it. It is a little different feel than my old strat but in a good way. I am so used to jumbo frets so it takes awhile to get used to the taller thinner that comes standard. The pickups are great I will probably put a bigger gauge set of strings on. I'm not used to the thin 9"s that come with it. But the quality and the sound is fantastic the maple neck is a dream. The case is really awesome as well. I love my new strat and you will too.

Comments about Fender American Professional Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

Love this guitar! I've been playing for around 35 years, but I've generally steered away from Fender, Strats and single-coil pickups, for reasons I can no longer explain; this guitar made me realize what I've been missing. It's beautiful to play - particularly higher up the neck - and creates an incredible range of tones.

It took me a while to get used to the floating bridge - I seem to spend a lot more time tuning this guitar, and it goes out of tune very easily - but that's a relatively small price to pay. I don't use the vibrato arm a great deal, but it is convenient and sensitive when I do. The tall and narrow frets felt a little odd at first, but now I love them.

Also, while it's clearly not the most important aspect, this is a beautiful guitar to look at, and the build quality is pristine. I just love the feel of the neck!

I play blues/jazz. I've desired that SRV tone for years. After various strats, pick up changes and adjustments this strat nails that tone I've been seeking.

I've had the Strat Pro. for about a month now. My other guitars are now sitting by themselves on their respective stands now. When I dropped it off to be set up by a pro (the nut slots needed to by shaved a touch), I played my previous favorite (a stainless steel fretted custom) the entire week that the strat was gone. Now that I have it back and the nut slots have been filed, I cannot put this thing down! I have the HSS version and love it. Great tonal varieties are at the flick of a switch. Full disclosure: It did take me a bit over a week to get used to playing a nickel fretted, high gloss fretboard guitar, but now that I'm over the learning curve, I can't ever imagine letting this thing go. Highly recommend!

I think it just can't get better than this. I mean, shire there is some room for refinement, and there is always going to be a more expensive, better looking guitar. But tone-wise, this is the thing. Traditional strat tones e great playability.
