Premier Bedford SH Demo with Abigail Zachko | D'Angelico Guitars

D'Angelico

collapse expand iconDescription

The Bedford SH from D'Angelico, previously only offered as a Deluxe Limited Edition model, is now available in the Premier Series. Featuring a sleek, modern f-hole design on the upper bout, the Bedford SH integrates a warm acoustic element into a three-pickup configuration that offers a bold variety of tones. The combination of two Duncan Designed single coils in the neck and middle positions followed by a Duncan Designed mini humbucker in the bridge creates a uniquely bold, but familiar tonal palette. A 5-way blade makes tone selection simple.

Plugged directly into a Supro Delta King 12 all the pickup settings sound amazing, including the mini pup. Crystal clean to dirty. I especially enjoy the tele style single coils, they sound full and expressive. Probably going to upgrade the mini pup to something a bit fuller sounding. It's good, but I have a DA Deluxe Brighton w/2 HOT mini pups and I think something similar would make this guitar stellar. Fit and finish are excellent. I'm going to pro finish the fret ends and make sure the wiring and solder points look good. I got mine used from GC. Even at full price it's worth every penny. If you get one that has issues, don't complain. EXCHANGE IT! I've received new Gibsons with imperfections lol!

I am so thoroughly satisfied with this purchase. It came out of the box set up properly and well intonated , which was unexpected. It's incredibly light and the medium frets make it very comfortable to play. It has a very flat fingerboard, unlike the fenders i'm used to, which is a welcome change. Its made out of cheaper woods but you wouldn't know it from the tone! It's incredibly versatile with the 5 way selector. I find on strats i usually keep the selector on neck or bridge but the Bedford really has great potential in every setting and i'm getting a ton of inspiration the more i play with it. Finally the aesthetic of the guitar is beautiful. There's not many people i see around my scene with D'angelico so if you're looking for a guitar that stands out in sound and appearance, you can't go wrong here.

Got this because I'm a tall very lanky guy and my 335 just felt awkward. Could not be more happy. Plays better than 4k custom shop level guitars I have played. WIDE variety of tonal capabilities. Feels absurdly good. 100% recommend. Only issue is the tuners but that is an easy fix.

I got this because I have a bad left wrist with limited mobility and I'd been told this model in particular was good for smaller hands. And it's true, I find it really easy to play, the neck shape is really good for me. I'll never play as good as this guitar is, but it's a lot of fun!

Why is the black version significantly more expensive than the red version? Is it some sort of super secret black paint that makes you invisible?

While Black is a more expensive paint, these are simply on a special price.
