I have a working rock band ... Sing, play keyboards and rhythm guitar and in smaller venues run our sound. I am not saying all that to blow my own horn, I am saying it to make a point. I need straight forward, great sounding, versatile gear that is quick and easy to set up, especially for my guitar amp, since i am so busy setting up sound, keyboard, etc.
This amp is great for rhythm or lead. It really blew me away. I kept looking for an modeling amp with all the features like built in effects, simple to set up and use, that had great clean sounds and a serious punch when needed . This Blackstar Id Core 100 has everything and more. What a great amp and at a great price. First show with it is this weekend and I am chompin at the bit. Fantastic modeling amp compared to others. REALLY ! Blackstar hit a home run with this little bad boy

I loved the stereo sound and the presets as they were. Loved the sound of the map. I set up the software on my computer and it said I needed a firmware update. I did that , and saw multiple error messages. Then, the amp was stone cold dead. I went to the Blackstar forums and saw that tis has been a problem for a year or more , and it appears as thought Blackstar doesn't care. Needless to say, I don't want that kind of headache! So I returned it. GC was very accommodating about the return. GC is great! THe amp....not so much.

Just found one of these in a GC store and drove 200 miles to jump on it. It is the warmest sounding amp I have ever had.
It will cover any venue. Jazz, blues, country, rock, you name it. It is not just a metal rock amp.
The stereo is mind blowing. The overall tone and effects are excellent.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

The true stereo sounds beautiful and rich. Even with headphones the sounds are huge and spacious. The effects also sound nice for built-ins. I play a lot of clean for practicing scales, arpeggios etc. and crunch/dirty tones for aggressive metal and so far I love this amp. I would absolutely recommend the ID Core 100.

My son is learning how to play the guitar. We had purchased a guitar for him, and a small amplifier. As he is getting better at playing more songs, he wanted something bigger with better sound. I wanted something that would not make the paint crack in my house. This is a really great investment we made for him as he is getting better at playing. The gentleman that helped us was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Thank you so much. We will continue to come back as my son grows in his guitar playing. He interested in purchasing another guitar.

I bought this as a practice amp. So far so good. It has lots of settings and presets. I could use it to gig in smaller venues since my Mesa is a bear to lug around. My only complaint, and why I didn't give it a 5 is that the expandable foot switch costs $100.00. I would definitely need that to gig with it. So far a solid amp for solid state.

Have had this for a few weeks. Did one gig with it. Yes all the sounds are nice. Personally I think a lot of power get used up in effects maybe. I can dime both volumes and sit in front if it at home. (With only mild gain) I found it a bit on the weak side with a trio. Kept having to boost the volume. It would be fine for small venues. Perhaps bumping the gain if you are into distortion it would hang but I don't play metal or distortion.

I got this to replace a 15 watt Fender Mustang, and this is a huge step up, I have a Gibson Les Paul and this amp really brings out the best in it, if you want a great 100 watt digital amp, this is the way to go.

I use this amp for the treble (melody) side of my Chapman Stick (while running the bass side through a Hartke Kickback 12). The Blackstar's sound is excellent. It can handle volume, and it's loaded with features. I bought it specifically to give the treble side of the Stick its own accurate voice. My decision was fueled because it is light (perfect for gigging) and has direct XLRs out (also perfect for gigging).

Love this amp. Sounds great. The only issue is trying to get a good clean sound, but it's nit too far off. Just need to spend time messing with the controls. The online app is great as well.

I spent over an hour putting this amp through its paces at the Tampa GC, AFTER I read/watched several review and demos. The Blackstar ID 100 2x10 delivers all the functional promise of the Line 6 amps but with a much nicer sound and portability.
It really packs a great punch for such a reasonable price, in such a relatively small package!

My Blackstar gets great heavy and clean tones. The built in gate is very useful and can take pedals very well. I used my Blackstar when I played with my high schools orchestra. On stage the feed back was terrible, but the gate was on low, I highly suggest putting it on high. The downloadable 'Blackstar Insider' software is easy to use and will really help you find your sound. If you are interested in buying one of these, you won't be let down when you do.

So I picked this amp up recently, and I have to say the distortion is extremely tight on this for metal it takes a minute to get used to the controls and dial in a tone but once you do oh boy. Honestly sounds fairly similar o my friends ht club series amp and that is saying a lot of a digital solid state this amp is more the worth the price and it gets plenty loud considering it 100 watts

I have a Blackstar HT stage 100 half stack and its perfect. So I was getting sick of carrying it around to practices and I refused to use any other amp cause once I got that sound I couldn't play with any other amp. So I decided to get this to bring to practices and I must say the sound is phenomenal. Almost as good of quality as an amp that is 4x the price. I highly recommend it.

Comments about Blackstar ID:Core 100W 2x10 Guitar Combo Amp:

So I've tried this ID Core 100 and I had a problem with it shutting off the FS12 footswitch. I contacted Blackstar and they had no answer for it. I was under my 45 days from GC so I took it back.

I was going to exchange it for another but decided to try the Katana 100 Combo amp. Very nice with a lot of sound pedal sounds. However, very limited room to save written patches (Only 4 Channels) and I really missed the stereo surround sound in the Blackstar.

So I returned that and picked up another Blackstar. I played out with it that night and really could notice the difference in sound with the stereo 10" speakers. Welcome back Blackstar. Also Blackstar has a community that writes patches and you can download them into your library and sync them with the amp in anyone of 36 channels. (There are 9 factory preset sounds saved 4 times) I just kept the 9 that are in channels 27 to 36)

You need another footpedal, the FS12 to be able to access all 36 channels. The default 9 are reach with the included 2 button footpedal.

There are not a lot of voicings in this amp. Chorus/Phaser, Octaver, Tremelo. That's it but how many do you really need. Most times I use Clean and Distortion with some of these effects and it works out well for me. If you want a lot of pedal effects in an amp, buy the Katana, it's loaded with 55 Boss effects.

Anyway, I love this amp. Sweet sound for my Strat as well as a clean bright or warm sound for my Breedlove Acoustic. I'm mostly a rythym player so I like the fullness of the surround sound.

Give this amp a shot. I think you'll like it. Twin 10" speakers and very light weight at 27lbs.

I use this for practice at home, and bought it after a great experience with the 10w idCORE that I keep in the computer room for quick practice sessions. I initially considered a 40 watt tube amp, but the built in looper and wide range of effects built into the idCORE made me decide to give it a shot.

This amp is replacing a Peavey Vypyr VIP3 and totally smashes the Vypyr in ease of use and sound quality. The extra knobs on the Blackstar make it so much easier to tweak than navigating through menus and multi-function push-and-turn knobs on the Peavey.
It sounds loud enough to play over a drummer, and Blackstar advertises it as gig-able but I haven't tried it.

I knocked off a star of sparse documentation and the somewhat fiddly Blackstar Insider software. If you don't take the default directories when you install Insider, you're going to have to poke around and move your downloaded amp profiles manually because the software won't see them. The instructions for the amp itself are just a couple loose pages with very basic info on them. If you're like me, you'll probably wind up learning most of the functions of the amp by wading through various Youtube videos. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice!
