Overview

The musical themes in this overture for band were originally composed for the White House Historical Association's PBS Special Upon These Grounds. It underscored a brief tour of the White House grounds and it was recorded by The President's Own U.S. Marine Band with Lt. Col. Timothy Foley conducting. Later, Mr. James Drew, Director of Bands at Marcario Garcia Middle School, Sugar Land, Texas commissioned the composer to rescore, adapt and arrange three principal themes for band. This work was premiered at the Midwest Clinic in 1997.
