Overview

The Mk7 Mockingbird Set Neck with Floyd Rose Electric Guitar represents the mid-priced section of the B.C. Rich lineup, and comes standard with specs that set it far ahead in its price field. It features a mahogany body with a set 3-ply mahogany neck. The rosewood fretboard has diamond inlays, mother of pearl headstock inlay and benefits from a heel-less neck joint that was pioneered by B.C. Rich and is beautifully functional. Electronics are an important feature on this model. An amazing array of tonal variations is possible via dual high-output pickups wired to a whole tool chest of controls. Black hardware includes a Floyd Rose Special tremolo and die-cast tuners. Case sold separately.

Please read before ordering this guitar

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird Set Neck with Floyd Rose Electric Guitar:

I am sure this has the potential for being a fine guitar and all. Here is my experience with the model. I ordered two of these and returned both. The first one had a serious neck problem and the 7th fret was much higher than frets 1-6. It would flatten out and play mute anything before fret 7. The next was straight as possible, the fret was just super high. Also the edges of most frets were unpolished and very sharp. The guitar has a sticker that says it was set up in California. Both of the ones I purchase were obviously never touched beyond the factory. AND the big project: The description features list a satin neck finish. The pictures also show a satin neck finish. Both guitars I ordered had a high gloss finish. A call to BC Rich confirms that they don't manufacture a MK7 with a satin neck finish. Not sure how this got so wrong, but I was very disappointed with the false advertisement.

Comments about B.C. Rich Mockingbird Set Neck with Floyd Rose Electric Guitar:

Just a hobby player, not a professional or anything. Bought the guitar cos it's cool looking and I've wanted one for a while.

Feels great, comfortable standing and sitting, LOVE the lack of a lumpy heel at the base of the neck, sounds good. The Floyd Rose is new to me, and lots of fun, though it makes stretching and re-tuning new strings a tiny bit of a chore if you're not used to it. Got the cobalt blue, and the finish is significantly darker than I'd expected from the bright blue in the photo, but it's still gorgeous.

Haven't had issues with specific frets as I've read in other reviews, but have been getting a bit of fret buzz, so might need a bit of adjustment, but I attribute that to humidity in AR more than a fault in the guitar. Not much of an issue in any case.
