Audio-Technica AT8410a Shockmount

Description
The AT8410a permits easy microphone insertion and removal without detaching the mic cable; its spring-loaded clamp holds even heavy-tapered microphones securely. The AT8415's lightweight and low profile make it an excellent choice for "fishpole" booms and for video use.
The AT8410a mounts directly to any stand with standard 5/8"-27 threads, and includes a constant-tension clutch and 180-degree swivel for easy, positive microphone adjustment. Isolation is accomplished with elastic shock cord. Microphones mechanically coupled to a stage or other resonant surface. And in live entertainment, shockmounts minimize noise from the movement of instruments as well as the pickup of high-level energy transmitted from nearby speakers.

Excellently designed shock mounts. They fit most my dynamics, small diaphragm condensers, and my cascade fat heads (which is what I primarily bought them for). They seem incredibly sturdy and I have complete confidence that they will hold up for years to come.
Great mic mount for field recording.

I have used a pair of these shock mounts with standard mics (AKG Blue Line Cartioid capsules) for field recording of concerts (with permission, taper tickets etc.) for years. Given the probability that the mic stand will get bumped in some taping situations (gotta tape from your seat, or in the designated "taper play area"), I'm so glad to have these. Do you want to save the modest cost of shock mounts and risk spoiling a never-to-be-repeated event, concert, lecture, or address? After several years I had to replace the elastic. Replacements are easily ordered. I got some 2mm elastic bead cord from Hobby Lobby, and replaced the cords for both mounts in about 15 minutes. Good for another 5-10 years.

Bought to replace shock mount for a Cascade Fat Head mic. They used to come with this style shock mount. These also work great for any "pencil condenser" mic, such as a Neumann 184, Audix scx-one, Oktava MK-012, etc. Works great and the one I have had for several years still has good tension on the bands.
A Solid Shock Mount

Even though these are twice as much as the musicians gear counterpart, as an owner of both, I have to say these are probably worth it. The musicians gear shock mounts had stripped screws within a few uses - required JB Weld for repair. These shock mounts are truly built tough though, and overall, have a higher quality material and build.
