Audio-Technica AT-LP60X Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Stereo Record Player Gunmetal

Description
Lightweight body, high-fidelity sound
The AT-LP60X turntable has a stylish, molded body that is designed to resist resonance and feedback. Combined with vibration-absorbing feet, the record player’s design provides excellent audio quality. A hinged dust cover provides protection and can be closed while a record is playing. A lightweight, straight tonearm delivers outstanding tracking.
High-performance phono cartridge and stylus
Your favorite records will sound better than ever with the included Dual Magnet phono cartridge. It features a replaceable elliptical stylus for excellent sound reproduction. The AT-LP60X turntable’s stylus is gentle on wax, so your prized records will not be worn unnecessarily. If you ever wear out your needle, it’s simple to replace.
User-friendly controls
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X belt-drive turntable can play at two different speeds. Select from either 33-1/3 or 45 RPM with the simple touch of a button. These speed options will accommodate virtually any vinyl record manufactured since the 1950s, including smaller 7” records and 12” singles. User-friendly buttons power the deck on and off, and activate the tonearm.
Built-in, switchable preamp and detachable RCA cables
The AT-LP60X features a built-in switchable phono preamp, and can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers, computer and other components, whether they have a dedicated phono input or not. Detachable RCA cables make it easier to transport and maintain the record player in the long run. To help reduce signal noise, this turntable boasts an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis.

Best budget Turntable on the market!!!
I received this turntable a couple of weeks ago as one of several players under $100. After reviewing the AT-LP60X, I have to say that I am impressed with this model all around. The build quality as a whole is actually decent with a sturdy cast aluminum platter. The only real issue I see with the design is the tonearm being built mainly out of plastic which may give you issues with tracking down the road. The sound quality is actually really good once you fine tune your setup. I paired mine with some Polk Audio Signature series speakers powered by an Onkyo TX-NR686 receiver. If you know how to set your Equalizer, it will really bring the sound to life. All in All Audio Technica has been around for years and they really know their stuff so you can't go wrong with anything product they have to offer. If you are just getting into Vinyl and are on a budget, this model is a great starting point.

Sounded great for two months - then stopped working!
While the sound quality of this device was impressive, within two months of normal use (one album played every day or two) the automatic tonearm function ceased to work. Pushing the START button moved the tonearm to the record but it touched down only to lift off and return to the rest, where it bobbed up and down repeatedly until I had to pull the plug. When I manually set the tonearm down on the record, it initially played fine but when it came to the end of the vinyl, it returned to the rest and just bobbed up and down again until I pulled the plug. Now placing the tonearm on the record only causes it to lift off and return to the rest and bob up and down until I pull the plug -- it is impossible to play the record. Of course, this all happened within a week after Guitar Center's return deadline. (Coincidence?) This is apparently a known design flaw as Audio Technica's service dept. offered a reset (spin the turntable while holding the tonearm in place at the rest), which of course did nothing to correct the problem. Knowing what I now know about this device, I would definitely not purchase again.

I really like this record player. I'm still a beginner with records but I got this thing for my birthday and have loved it ever since. Accidentally ruined the plastic protective cover but I'm getting a new one! I had a victrola before this (which are known for ruining your records) and this thing felt like such a big upgrade. I know some of your are "experts" or whatever but I say this is a perfect record player for a beginner, like me.

I haven't had this unit for long, but so far it has been fantastic. It works as expected. My only gripe is that the output is a 3.55mm barrel plug, although it comes with a 3.55mm to RCA cable. The 'play' automatically moving the arm in place and lowering it, and the 'stop' automatically raising the arm, and returning it to its cradle wasn't something I expected. It was a pretty cool surprise. I also like the button that raises and lowers the arm automatically (kind of like 'pause'). I wasn't expecting a unit that I could just put a record in and control everything else via buttons, but that's exactly what I got. Also, the auto stop functions as expected. Super cool!

The build is mostly plastic, but once it's setup, you can't really tell and it adds a lovely aesthetic to the room. While it does have a conical stylus, the sound was pleasantly surprising and clear! I love using it, and if you're looking for a beginner turntable that gets the job done while remaining affordable, I'd go with this one. #sweepstakes

I was really surprised at how good this sounded. It's definitely in the lower end of turntables, but with a pair of good speakers, wow, it sounds good! I can only imagine how much better it would sound with a higher-quality stylus and cartridge. Definitely not the highest build quality, but it looks great nonetheless and isn't "dingy".

What about speakers
Any powered speakers would work. This turntable features a built-in switchable phono preamp, and can be connected directly to your home stereo, powered speakers.
