Comments about Apple Creek Dulcimer Case:

I bought this to transport my dulcimer. It is an older (1978) Black Mountain Instruments Dulcimer Model 56 (hourglass shape) and I was a bit worried that it wouldn't fit in the case. But this thing is perfect. It fits the dulcimer like a glove. It has a little padding in it, but not enough to withstand anything major. I have only had it about a week, but the construction seems solid and I am very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Apple Creek Dulcimer Case:

A great fit for the Applecreek teardrop dulcimer for which it was made. Applecreek makes great cases for dulcimers. It is made of sturdy fabric, has a pocket for picks, tuner, noter. Comes with a shoulder strap and carrying handle.

Comments about Apple Creek Dulcimer Case:

You get what you pay for. It's an inexpensive case specifically designed for the beginner mountain dulcimer that Guitar Center sells. The Good: Lightweight, perfectly fits this dulcimer, double "backpack" straps make it easy to carry.
The Bad: It's so lightweight because it doesn't have much padding. It's enough for a gig bag, but since there is no other option for a mountain dulcimer, and since this is designed for a very specific "short" mountain dulcimer with fewer frets than standard, just for beginner dulcimer players, I would think it would make sense to give it thicker padding.

I spent days searching for a quickly obtainable, inexpensive case for the mountain dulcimer my daughter received for Christmas--which she loves!--so that she could travel back to college with it on a plane across the country. It made it just fine--as a carry on, of course--but she is experienced with instruments and knows how to protect them in such an environment.
Other cases I saw were more expensive than the instrument brand new, so I think it would be nice if the case were better padded for beginner musicians.
