Overview

One of Alvarez’s bestselling guitars. The AG75CE is a great all-round instrument for live work or recording. The cedar/rosewood woods create a sophisticated look and the GA body shape is perfect. This Grand Auditorium has the same the scale length (25-1/2") as their dreadnoughts, but a slightly smaller body with a narrower waist that accentuates the trebles.

The L.R. Baggs StagePro Element is a side-mounted preamp/EQ that offers battery access and a full chromatic tuner that is hidden beneath the control panel to maintain a clean, classy look. The three-band EQ with phase inversion and Garrett Null notch filter controls deliver warm, pristine sound even under the most challenging conditions.

Like all Artist Series guitars, the AG75CE is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. These components include Alvarez's FST2M bracing system, bi-level bridge, real bone nut and great quality tonewoods.

FSTM is a forward-shifted X brace design. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are scalloped. Moving the system forward allows for a larger soundboard, which is optimized with a solid maple bridge plate for both strength and energy.

The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. These guitars feel right and are exciting to play and responsive. Dig in and they shout right back at you, treat them gently and they whisper and respond instantly to the lightest strum or pick.

The Western red cedar top is hand-selected from quarter-sawn wood. This ensures consistent quality, and it's no secret better guitars are made from better wood. These tops not only look great but they are stiff and strong and finely grained.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AG75CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I picked this up since I didn't want to spring for a 300 series Taylor and the specs and reviews seemed excellent. This is a great guitar. Full, clean sound. Rings like a bell and is great for fingerstyle. The neck is very comfortable. It came set-up better than any guitar I've ever purchased. On top of all this, it looks fantastic as well! I'm very impressed with the Alvarez Artist line; I believe they are an excellent value and players at all levels would be well suited to look at them.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AG75CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this as a mid range priced guitar to use for teaching and songwriting . I have an Alvarez Yairi I use for gigging, but I could use this too. The cedar top kinds of warms it up to me. Stays in tune well, tuner works good . Great guitar for the money if you're looking to spend under $1000.

Comments about Alvarez Artist Series AG75CE Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. This is the second acoustic I've purchased ever. My first Alvarez, an aj60sc, I purchased in 2001 and it took this long to find something that felt just as amazing to play. I was hunting every shop around to find something to replace the old Alvarez that was getting pretty beat up from traveling and playing constantly. I tried so many different brands, and didn't even think to try another Alvarez. Found this and my mind was made up.

The only issues I've had is the pickup system is different from the one I originally tested in the store. The older models had a B Band dual pickup system, which I thought was perfect for my percussive playing. The new models come with an LR Baggs system. Which sounds amazing, but for me I don't get enough sound from the rest of the guitar. I've since replaced it with another LR Baggs system that has the piezo and a transducer.
I've also had a few cracks and braces come unglued. The guitar tech suggested that it didn't look like something I did, but a poor quality during assembly.
Still wouldn't trade this guitar for anything else.
