Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Beautiful guitar, much better looking in person than in photo's. Not best for strumming - unless done un-agressively or capo'd high due to the larger, low-tension strings. The electronics are... wanting. There is a volume and tone adjustment just under the inside of the sound hole - bravo, but while doing its job, it is not great, and only barely good. I run it through a K&K preamp which helps a LOT. The only thing I consider "poor" that you just have to live with on this guitar, is the lack of the commanding presence of that big ol' bass string that I was so looking forward to hearing. It is there, but not like I had hoped. My advice is to ( good luck) find a few and play them first, but for the money - you won't do better than this one.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This plays well, and the grand auditorium body style fits me I am 6' tall and i like the long scale. This is my first baritone guitar, and it takes some getting used to in my group's rehearsal space. I cannot even look at the chords the other guitar players are using. They throw me off, being as I am tuned to a B on the low string and they are tuned to an E. It's a great sound to add to the jazz fusion, and folk-rock stuff I play.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I absolutely love this guitar. The shape and coloring are gorgeous. As a baritone guitar, its a bit larger in body and fret length than a standard guitar but doesn't take too long to get used to. The action is a bit low on the guitar out of the box causing a bit of fret buzzing but is easily fixed I'm sure.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I really enjoy this guitar. The neck needed just a slight bit of adjustment(to suit me....I'm kinda picky) but it could have gone from box to stage as it came. The guitar's tone is sweet. I'm glad I bought it. My wife isn't.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had the same response as Johnjohn who commented that the low B was not what he was hoping for. While the other 5 strings resonate nicely, the low string does not, even with a new Elixer. I replaced the low B string (.070") with a .065" from an acoustic bass set - much better. More comfortable to play than the earlier ABT60E jumbo baritone but that one had a Baggs pickup which sounded better. Still the best baritone bang-for-buck around. I'll probably put locking tuners and a K&K pickup on this one.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The finish is pretty exquisite for the price point. Never would have considered an alverez for such a fine matte finish and quality polish. Seriously, there isn't a mark on the guitar. Frets were finished nice. Setup decent. Sounds good. The pickup kinda sucks but for the money the guitar alone is worth the cash. Worth a try if you want a baritone. I like it.

Comments about Alvarez ABT610E Baritone Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought it to try out. Practice singing in a low register. It's amazingly fun. The quality is completely surprising. This is finished as nicely as a $1000 instrument. Frets smooth. Polished nicely and a great overall feel. SDoD Deal seems like such a steal. This Artist Series is influencing me to try another Alvarez in another shape. Pleasant surprise.
