When Margaret Goldston passed away in September, 2003, she left behind several pieces yet to be published. This tender solo is one of them. Inspired by an island vacation she took with her husband, it is reminiscent of palm trees swaying in a gentle ocean breeze. It is an excellent study in voicing both a single-line melody and chords above the accompaniment. The modal harmonies found throughout create a distinct tropical sound.
