The Strike Kit from Alesis combines the feel and familiarity of acoustic drums combined with the versatility and capability of the best electronic drums. These are the perfect drums to move beyond the limitations of a conventional acoustic set, without giving anything up. Featuring large dual-hoop pads with mesh heads and patented sensitivity adjustment knobs, Strike’s premium wood shell drums come in standard acoustic drum sizes (14 in. snare, 8-10-12 in. toms and 14 in. kick), so you’ll instantly feel at home when you sit behind them.

Strike cymbals—16 in. 3-zone ride, 14 in. crash w/choke and 12 in. hi-hat— are also an exciting step forward. They feel spectacularly realistic: a perfect blend of feel, control and bounce. They offer a larger bell area for enhanced playability, along with a cool “hammered look.”

The Strike Performance Drum Module has a sound library with 100 drum kits made from over 1600 multi sampled instruments. The module has on-board sampling capability, SD card storage, and USB/MIDI connectivity, which you can use in conjunction with your favorite music production software as well as the powerful new Strike Software Editor. Comments about Alesis Strike Kit:

The packaging was fortified. Each piece of hardware felt sturdy and well made. The assembly was easy although the instructions given were spartan if that. The web ad indicated a pedal was included. It was not in the package. The hi-hit stand was not included. It was mentioned only in very small print at the primitive assembly sheet after you had the box opened. However the stand was pictured clearly in the ad.
One star lost.

After all connections to all hardware made, i powered the set. I had problem getting sounds from anything. There is no manual included. There is a pdf manual in Alesis website. But you have to have computer and internet. Very bad assumption.
One star lost.

After considerable trial and error ... since my internet connection was poor ... i managed to make sensible sounds coming out from most of the inputs. But the kick drum sti sounds like snare. There are a LOT of adjustments to make it sound right. The kick drum refused all my effords to sound like boom box. Is sounded like a muffed snare.

I knew, it was not going to be a piece of cake.

The control unit felt cheap. All plastic. The mounting plate plastic, veeery cheap. A mild drop on a hard floor will need a dust mop to pick the pieces. However the unit was well fuctioning. Lots of adjustments but if mastered thouroughly will be great. The screen sharp and colorful, unlike the competition's dot matrix.

The clamps all plastic. A week now assembled, all needed a bit tightening. Clamps should be metal. The extra cost would had been minimum but the overall look would had looked glittering.

There is a delay to switch from one sound kit to an other. It could be from 10 to 30 seconds to load. Some kits are bizzare, however fun to experiment.

Overall the set looks good for the money. it needs an other $500 to be caughed, which is ok.
The set had to be ready to play, period. A basic single pedal and a hi-hat stand should be included. I recomend the prospective buyers to buy the PRO set.

Comments about Alesis Strike Kit:

Feels Great, Sounds are alright ( not fantastic) sensitivity/playability takes tedious setting tweaking. Still won't get it 100% fluid though. If your looking for something for the kids get this, if your a professional using it in a triggering, performing, or studio setting, save a bit more, hold off and go with the Rolland TD 50 or Pearl Mimic

So far it's great . Easy to assemble..not so great is the amount you pay and it don't come with all parts so that you can play it straight out the box
