I loved this kit however the floor tom is eight inches wide, so when I would be fills using all the toms, sometimes I would accidentally hit the rim and trigger a rim sound. Note: It may have been me but I simply prefer 10 inch or higher floor toms. I would recommend this kit most strongly to beginners people wanting to get back into drumming, but can't have an acoustic kit.

  • Great kit.

I bought the Command X Mesh Kit version. Same module. I'm extremely happy with this kit. Highly recommend. I am playing funk/R&B with an internet band since Covid-19. I have a ton of flexibility.with how I was the kits to sound. Even the kick I can really dial it in.

Really a quality solid kit at a very affordable price. The mesh heads feel and respond great. The duAL zone snare and Tom are great for expanding your sounds on each drum and the module has a great selection of good percussion sounds and it's easy to use. The mesh kick pad is great. The rack is heavy and holds in place solid, Tom and cymbal mounts hold in place well to. Feels and sounds like a much more expensive kit. Very thing you need is included even the sticks. Nice touch !!!

  • Very good e-kit, with an affordable starting price!

Yes you can use a double kick, you just need a pedal with the beaters close enough together to avoid hitting the rim.

What does this kit have that the Surge kit does not have, other than a few more kits? That seems to be the only difference I see.

As far as velocity sensitivity goes, this is by far one of the best. Not quite as good as an acoustic set, but as far as an electric set goes, this is in the top 3 that I've seen.

What is better (more capable) about this set (Alesis Command Mesh Kit $699 Item# 1500000206808) than the less expensive Alesis Surge Mesh-Head Electronic Drum Set $499 Item# 1500000206805). Thanks for any info.

The only major difference between the two is the drum module. With the Command having 74 Drum kits and 671Sounds and the Surge only having 40 Drum kits and 385 Sounds.
