The Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp V2 provides bassists with a versatile tool for crafting and refining their tone. Whether practicing at home or performing on stage, this preamp allows you to shape your sound with precision. The Tone Hammer features the same circuitry as the original but in a more compact design. It offers an enhanced drive circuit with increased gain range and a dedicated control for fine-tuning your gain level. You'll have the ability to achieve modern slap tones, vintage warmth and overdriven grit. With 18-volt operation, this preamp provides plenty of headroom for clear, articulate sound.

Versatile Tone-Shaping EQ

The Tone Hammer V2 gives you complete control over your tone with bass, midrange and treble EQ controls. Boost or cut each frequency range by up to 18dB to craft your perfect sound. The midrange control is fully sweepable from 180Hz to 1kHz, allowing you to hone in on the specific midrange frequency that complements your playing style. With the Tone Hammer V2, you have the power to shape a tone that is uniquely you.

Enhanced Drive Circuit

The updated drive circuit in the Tone Hammer V2 provides an expanded gain range, giving you more versatility to shape your overdriven tone. Use the dedicated Drive control to add warmth and grit, then fine-tune the amount of gain with the Gain knob. You can achieve modern slap sounds, vintage grit or fully saturated distortion. The Drive circuit also features a footswitch to activate the overdrive effect, giving you more control over your tone during live performances.

Direct Recording and Monitoring Capabilities

Thanks to its built-in DI, the Tone Hammer seamlessly connects to recording equipment, mixing boards and amplifiers. The DI features a ground lift switch and pre/post EQ routing options, providing optimal signal handling for any live or studio application. The unbalanced 1/4" output has enough power to drive a power amp, allowing you to use the Tone Hammer as a standalone preamp. A headphone output with dedicated volume control lets you practice in silence with your favorite tracks.

Road-Ready and Built to Last

Designed and assembled in New York City, the Tone Hammer is ready to handle the rigors of the road. Its rugged metal chassis protects the components within while keeping the pedal light enough for convenient transport. The footswitches, knobs and jacks are securely mounted to withstand repeated stomping and plugging. With high-quality components and construction, this preamp provides years of reliable service for passionate bassists everywhere.
