Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 7:

Was told by an "expert" sales person that this could record as many track simultaneously as your interface can dish out. If you are a keyboard player, you can record multiple midi tracks, but for audio, only 2, left and right. It also has some decent FX, amp simulators, and synth stuff. I would compare it to Magix 2016, but not as powerful. Magix can record 4 tracks at once. Both operate similarly and have about the same amount of samples loops and FX. Magix being less than half the price. Samplitude (Magix upscale version) is way more powerful, is way more powerful, can record 16 tracks at once, has as many nice whistles and bells and still costs much less. I've heard reviewers compare Acoustica to Pro tools, and Cubase , not the LE versions, and I had to laugh. It does have some eye candy. I loaded it fairly easily, it was compatible with my interface and 64 bit PC, but nothing really impressive. It won't handle 192 Khz, but no big deal. Keyboard players will love it, and those who want to load samples and make a little music overdubbing everything, they'll have fun. Remeber, WAV and Midi samples are easy to come by.I was disappointed, and am going back to Reaper which I consider much more professional. It doesn't have all the pretty graphics, but for a working sound man/musician, it works. WAV and Midi samples can be had for little money or just trade with friends. For Mixcraft to call this a "Pro Studio" is more hype than reality. To me it's just a toy. I just hope I can get my money back. I know I'll get a lot of dislikes from this review, but hopefully, it'll help someone searching for a DAW that works for them, find what they want within their budget.

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 7:

I do live sound and recording for band. Also have home studio. I use a basic Mackie 1604 VLZ lugged into a Behringer UMC404HD interface. I was using a Reaper DAW, which gave me XLNT results, but wanted to upgrade to something that had all the functions plus the graphics and more features. The Mixcraft Pro 7 looked like the right ticket. Loading the disc took about 7 min. it married up to the drivers of the interface without a hitch. But I could only arm 2 crecord channels at a time, not good, so I thought. Went back to Guitar center where they showed me in the book where it does do multitrack recording. Went home with I bit better knowledge. Went into preferences and tried different settings and finally found the right ones. Now I'm happy. There was a lot of latency, and with some expermentaton, and switching to 192 hz on the sampling rate, was able to get the latency down to 8 mil sec. Not too bad as this is recorded signal to the input signal. There is no latency on the input signal. Use headphones to check the recording once in a while. I wish the clubs or music venues had control rooms, oh well. Not too concerned with the live recording at this time until I get an upgrade interface for some serious live recording with more channels. I got this unit to have the power of Reaper, but the features of Samplitude but not a compromise of the two. It surpasses both of them. It uses about 30% to 40% of my CPU limits. I'm using a basic 64 bit all-in-one Win 8.1 computer with 8 gb ram. The Mixcraft Pro came with over 8,000 samples and loops. I imported another 6,000 from another disc without a hitch. In the studio I record my own music and use samples and loops to get the basic sound I want. Then have friends come over and replace the drum or bass samples with their own licks and beats. I haven't had it long, still in that "learning curve" but getting things dialed in and tweaked. So far so good.

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 7:

I was an Avid Pro Tools 8 user for about 5 years and I became annoyed by the freezing, crashing, and rebooting that I had to do constantly when recording directly into the DAW and when I was zealous with the plugins. So I took a chance on Mixcraft 7 and I fell in love with it. It has all of the features of Pro Tools that I like but at a much cheaper price and easier on the cpu. I don't ever plan to go back to Pro Tools.

Comments about Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 7:

You can't beat the price for what it gives you! And you can attach and (modestly) edit video tracks too! :D And the premier piano virtual instrument PIANISSIMO is actually worth the whole price! :D Very highly recommended.
