One of the world's top-selling stage tuners, the BOSS TU-2, has evolved and improved into the TU-3 pedal tuner. Housed in a tank-tough BOSS stompbox body, the TU-3 chromatic tuner features a smooth 21-segment LED meter with a High-Brightness mode that cuts through the harshest outdoor glare. Choose between Chromatic or Guitar/Bass tuning modes. Accu-Pitch Sign gives you pinpoint visual verification that tuning is complete. The BOSS TU-3 tuner incorporates a convenient Note Name Indicator that can display notes of 7-string guitars and 6-string basses, while the Flat-Tuning mode can support up to 6 half-steps. It's the kind of instrument pedal tuner that no performing guitarist or bass player should be without.

I bought this tuner today and spent the extra ten dollars to upgrade from the TU-2. It's wayyy more accurate and works with lower tuning like drop C# which my band uses. It can also work as a killswitch if you're on stage and is extremely durable, if you buy it at a store and are offered to pay for a warranty, don't. Boss pedals are really durable and almost never break. I highly reccomend this.
This is a great tuner. When you step on it it mute your guitar and lets you tune in between songs. This is great for tuning up your guitar real quick in between long sets. What really impressed though was that I could see it playing an outdoor gig recently when I couldn't all my other pedals because the sun was too bright. If you plan on playing live, then this is the tuner for you
Let's be honest... price is hardly an option when the alternative is being out of tune, thereby destroying any sense of beauty coming from your instrument. (within reason i suppose)
That being said, this tuner doesn't even hurt to pay for... it's 99 bucks... ridiculously cheap considering what you are getting... a boss stomp box tuner, which implies durability and industry standard as a pedal board adornment... but they've upped the ante. This tuner says it gets within 1 cent of the pitch... i haven't performed any scientific tests to verify this, but I'm confident that the TU3 is getting me into a more precise and exact tuning than did my TU2 (a pedal i toured with for years... played with and stomped on thousands of times... and still works flawlessly).
Add this little extra... when you tune to the pitch you are after, once you achieve it you get a visual indicator letting you know you have arrived... in addition to the two yellow arrows that have indicated pitch, now you get a parade a lights starting on the outside and racing toward the center to 'bookend' either side of the pitch you've arrived at. Incredibly simple... yet super effective... the guess work all guitar players know when you are playing live of 'i got to the pitch... uh... did i go past it a touch... uh... did i go too far back...' etc is over.
If you have never used a boss stomp box tuner, time for you to catch up.
If you have used the TU2, stop reading reviews. Order this pedal now. You won't regret it.
(i really should buy some stock in Boss, eh?)
