iDrum turns your Mac or PC into a slamming beatbox ready to lay down your grooves, your way. From ambient downtempo to bangin' hip-hop to frenetic drum 'n' bass, iDrum does it. Drum machine neophytes will get to experience the same magical 'instant-gratification' fun that hooked an entire generation of musicians on the hardware drum machines of yesteryear. Pros will find that there's simply no faster, easier way to access and manage large unwieldily drum sample libraries, get a phat beat going, and get it exported into the format you need.
Seamless integration with ProTools, GarageBand, and Logic.
iDrum runs as both a standalone application and as a plug-in for Digidesign's ProTools, Apple's GarageBand and Logic, and Ableton's Live 4 applications. This means you can use iDrum to create beats from right within your favorite music software environment, perfectly synced with your arrangement and always right where you left it when you return to your project after your next world tour.
Hundreds of Samples and Kits
iDrum comes with hundreds of dope drum samples arranged in nearly 200 iDrum files, each with several preset patterns programmed by some of the best beatmeisters working today. But these beats are just the beginning--since you can mix and match parts and samples between kits, and even load your own AIFF and WAV drum samples, the possibilities for beat creation are virtually endless.

This thing is sooooo cool, I think anybody that dogs it either can't understand how to use it or didn't bother figuring it out - and it's easy to figure out. Thousands of sounds, or use your own, stutter effects, a swing function that's editable and very cool, voice editing, most hip hop and electronica is in 4/4/ but you can do different time signatures using a little third grade math.
This program can only play in 4/4 and can only break measures down to 8, 16, 32, or 64 increments. Forget about a real swing beat, because you can't quantize to increments of 12/24/48. Also, the sound samples include a million whirrs, clicks, and blonks, but where are the toms? I can't find them. This is probably good for dance mixes, but for rock/folk/swing/etc. it's pretty useless. My old Yamaha X17 sounds better and is more versatile
Excellent!! Idrum is a drum programmers dream come true. Finally, something was created that makes drum programming a joy! Idrum comes preloaded with its own phat drum wavs. And on top of that you can use your own drum wavs as well!! Because of this feature you will never again run out of drum sounds!!
