Ddrum experimented with different wood combinations to get the unique sound of the Dios ST shells. The winning combination turned out to be outer plies of wood from Aspen trees, and inner plies of African bubinga from ddrum's Dios shells.
The Dios ST drum shells give a brighter tone full of body due to the Aspen plies, and increased bottom end as a result of the bubinga inner shell. But, true to form for Any ddrum kit, the look of the Dios ST drums is what truly sets them apart, by applying sparkle lacquer stripes in both horizontal and vertical patterns.
