Product Information

A beast of a set that's ready for the most extreme rock.

The ddrum Defiant 6 piece shell kit is best described by one word: metal. The kit's sparkle lacquer with black shell hardware combination make it stunning enough without being "pretty" and tough enough without being clunky. Basswood shells mean volume, shorter toms mean better rebound for faster playing, and the kick sizes are perfect for blast beats. The Remo head package makes it nearly ready to kill out of the box, and it is as at home on the festival stage as it is in a dingy club.

About Ddrum Acoustic Drums No doubt you've seen Ddrum around for a long time. Chances are, your favorite drummers have been playing on their gear for years. Players the likes of Tommy Lee, Simon Phillips, Kenny Aronoff and Dennis Chambers have been playing Ddrum triggers and electronic percussion since their introduction in 1983.

The Revolution began when the Swedish Clavia Company developed a radical electronic drum design incorporating traditional drum heads and high-sensitivity piezo triggers. Ddrum's unique design set a benchmark for innovation when their trademark red acoustic drum triggers were introduced; allowing players access to a universe of sonic possibilities from the standard drum kit.

From those humble beginnings arose a re-think in the way electronic percussion is sampled, triggered, and played. Generations of pads, triggers, and electronic drum modules have set the stage for the Ddrum 4 SE; the most accurate and professionally preferred complete electronic drum kit in existence.

Now Ddrum crosses into another percussive frontier: re-thinking acoustic drums. In the vast landscape of today's "Been there, done that" drum market, it is often difficult-if not impossible-to find something that truly shatters the mold of conventionality.

Great Set!

I recently played this set and it sounds amazing! It's a great set once you set it up to where it's comfortable for you. The bass drums have great sound as well as a warm sound for all the toms. The snare sound has that of a marching snare sounds great! i recomend this set because it's great sounding and very affordable!

Mushroomhead Supports

I play for the Industrial bands Mushroomhead, Dope, and Ventana, and this is my personal set, that i use when i tour with ventana. I love this set, its good for the price, but ive found myself having to add onto it on multiple occasions. Great sound, and great set up. Very pleased with the price

great upgrade

this kit is really good for people who are looking into getting a dual bass drum set and are upgrading from a standard 3 tom set up. it doesnt over load you with 5 or 7 toms and it doesnt have cymbals gallor so u pretty much build this kit how u want it and thats how i like it.

sick kit for a decent price

I play for a death-core band and I needed a new kit to replace my old Premier kit and then I found a ddrum defiant. This kit surprised the hell out of me. I've wanted it for a while and once i got it it was like a dream come true almost. Like just about any other kit, I replaced the heads almost immediately with evans Ec2s and Aquarian superkicks and they sound phenominal. I even replaced the snare with a pork pie and I think it's a very good combination. It even works great as just a 4-piece kit for jamming in small places. Overall, I give this kit the full 5 stars.

good deal

i got this kit in august of 2007. it is a pretty good kit. its a good buy if you are interested in upgrading to a double bass kit. it sounds good and the hardware holds up pretty well. i would change the heads though. the stock heads dont sound that good. especially the bass drum heads. upgrade to some remo or aquarian heads

Rockin!!

A very nice kit for the money. The gray sparkle doesnt look impressive on photos but live it looks great. Sound wise the heads that come with it do an ok job, but putting on better heads definately improve it to that of a expensive set. All in all Im extremely satisfied with this set, It looks METAL and delivers with the 18x22 bass drums. Thanks DDRUMS for putting an affordable set with the look & sound of an expensive one on the market! Vic
