good quality

Comments about dbx 215s Dual Channel 15-Band Graphic Equalizer:

the dbx 215s is a good quality equalizers, the electronic parts used to build is good quality, knobs, sliders etc.. for sound, i would rate it a four, 6db setting is ok, but, using the 12db would be recommended. this unit is best used for studio recording, live sound, or even just home use.. unit is built good, and designed fairly well... very low distortion, quiet operation... one draw back with this unit, is a main on and off switch..."there is no switch" for the most part, i would recommend this equalizer....

Not bad

By KRISTIAN THOMPSON

from Rio Rancho, NM

Comments about dbx 215s Dual Channel 15-Band Graphic Equalizer:

Just bought this unit. right off as the previous reviewer quoted is that there is NO on/off switch. Another thing that I find annoying is that when you use the by pass switch, no matter if you are turning the bypass on or off, it makes a hell of a POP throughout the entire system. and when you are playing live and setting up sound (granted you probably wont' be using the bypass switch) but if you do, you had better turn everything off or you are going to get blasted. other than that, the unit seems to be very good. Quite operation and the sliders are very responsive. I had two different Nady units, on one, a channel just went out completely and the other had a VERY noticible hissing noise in it that could not be EQed out. they both had the same issue also with the bypass switch that this unit has. Because of the previously mentioned issues with the NADY's, is the reason I ran to GC to get a new unit and this is what I picked up. definately and improvement over the NADY's that I had (2 ea).

Comments about dbx 215s Dual Channel 15-Band Graphic Equalizer:

I have the 215 and picked the 215s up used from GC with a 2u soft case. I liked the 215, and the 215s is even sweeter! The sound is crystal clear. I run a mixer into the left channel out to a Q2, and run the Q2 to the right channel and then to a Carvin DCM200L and into a JBL E120. I have my Juno, PRS and X4 all going into the mixer and 215s. I even run the Moog Animoog app through this.

Well worth the 1u rack space.

Comments about dbx 215s Dual Channel 15-Band Graphic Equalizer:

I bought a used 215, and have this set up with one channel as an input to my Q2 and the second channel at the output, and have the option to modify the sound. I was so impressed I wanted another eq for my synth and organ, and now have a 215 and 215s. They are both great, and really make a difference in enhancing your tone, or in the case of my M3 organ, cutting out some of the tone wheel noise.

Comments about dbx 215s Dual Channel 15-Band Graphic Equalizer:

I currently have this in the mixer's effects loop that starts with a Lexicon MX200 that splits the signal into a DOD crossover into a DBX compressor and ends with this two-channel, fifteen band graphic EQ. Used this way, it is a subtle piece of the puzzle. Wiring it between the mixer's output and the preamp makes it easier to get the correct amount of gain into the EQ to let it shine on its own.

A few more LEDs for the gain would be nice. As it is, you get indications for -10, 0, +10 and +18dB. My goal is to hit zero for the most part and maybe light up the +10 on the most severe peaks. I use the rack for PA and for bass guitar and it works fine for both.

I have not experienced any popping sounds when using the bypass, lo cut or range selection buttons after six months or regular use.
