I've gone through many mics in the past, MXL, Radio Shack, Sterling Audio, Blue, and others, this this mic is the most true and smoothing sounding mics I've ever used. The lows or base is not too low and the highs are not over extended. It actually records voice as it comes from the recording artist. One feature I really like is the -10db attenuation switch on the back of the mic. This allows for muting any room noise that's not immediately around the mic and allows for a very clean recording. For my recording setup, it does have a little higher hiss response, but I'm not concerned because I can take this out with software and product a perfectly clean recording. Overall, an excellent mic.
I own two of these mic's and they are great for my home studio. They are clear with a lot of depth and clairity to make my voice perform to a level I never new I had. I Play country and southern rock and my neighbors think I have a Cd and stero playing. Also Great for home recording. You can be two inches away from this mic and it picks up every sound you make so use a pop filter. I also plug this mic into my home recording studio and sing thru an echo chamber and 100 other effects.Shock mount is easy to install and works great. I will be getting another one as my sure beta 87A only works good for band practice. This will help any songwriter get the sounds you need without buying the German mics at ten times the price. I highly reccomend this product.
I spent almost two months researching mics over the internet, and everytime I looked for an inexpensive, efficent and amazing performance microphone...THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE.
I used the AT2035 solely for vocals and heard nothing short of almost flawless quality. This microphone also works well on tube amps and cabinets (bass or guitars). As for acoustics it picks up a lot of noise. But that can be compensated with a compresser.
