To be honest, I stumbled across this cymbal when I was fourteen and wanted to get as many cymbals on my kit as humanly possible. I saw that it was remarkably cheap for a Zildjian cymbal and bought it on a whim. At first, I didn't care for the little disgusting-looking cymbal that arrived in the mail, but as soon as I got used to it, I began writing drum parts centered entirely around it. It makes for incredible accents to any part and if you're playing with a band that's particularly heavy or sludgy sounding, this brash and deceptively powerful cymbal cuts right through those droning rhythm guitar parts. It is a cheap, but incredibly effective addition to any set where a little bit of trash never hurt anyone.

Let's Face it, the Zildjian ZXT Trashformer cymbal is amazing! but look at it's shape... If you're planning on bringing it anywhere- Well, Forget it because hairline cracks will form on the cymbal. It's deformed shape gives it amazing and stellar sounds but man it dies way too easily. On my way to the studio i brang this thing in a cymbal bag and as soon as i got there it was cracked. I fullfilled the warranty once, and it broke again over the course of 2 years and Zildjian wont replace it. They've lost my buisiness.. This cymbal is too much of a gamble to buy- I guess if you buy it, plan on using it as an accent (which the 14" is not made to do)...

Zildjian-ZXT-Trashformer

By Bill Daly

from OH Centerville

This cymbol is good. The sound is great but it is of course it is bent which will look a little weird at first. DO NOT CLEAN THIS CYMBOL the awesome finish comes right off! Also, as soon as i got mine 10" it had about 4 lines from where it was bent, but the sound is great!

10 inch

Amazing trash, good for the price. It's a really weird sound at first, honestly. But you'll get used to it. Like I said, amazing. It's just too quiet sometimes compared to my 16" A Custom Crash since they're right next to each other. Go trash!

Great Topper Cymbal but other than that, Aweful.

By Austin Parson

from Summerville, SC

I got this cymbal as an Easter gift from my parents. At first I only used it as a solo splash cymbal, by its self the sound is totally gone within a second. But when put on top of something it sounds pretty awesome. I put it on top of my Sabian B8 Crash Ride because that cymbal is so dull and boring but when I put the Trashformer on it, it totally changed my mind. This cymbal is great as an effects cymbals as a topper. Don't buy this unless you plan on putting it on top of another cymbal.

Neat Little Cymbal...

By Chris T

from Medinah, IL

I bought this cymbal to spice up my kit because I didn't have the $$$ for an A Custom China. It is trashy, that's a fact. Once I got the China, I needed to do something with this odd little cymbal. First, I installed 4 rivets...WOW! I then ran a Scotch-Brite pad across the top in a pattern that matches the old Z Custom... Everyone comments on my cymbal set-up...not all the A and A Customs but this little ZXT with the rivets!!! With a little creativity and a few dollars, you can really make something unique. This whole thing cost me 80 odd dollars and one can't even by the box for an A Custom for $80!!! Just remember, this little wonder is paper-thin, so take it easy all you heavy hitters!

ZXT Trashformer

By Brian Phillips

from fairfax va

i picked this cool looking cymbal because i looking for a effect/accent sounding cymbal for a really low price. I expected a china sound but i got a different sound that i've grown to like. despite its size it cuts through nicely but doesn't hold its sound for that long.. in other words it doesn't resonate i guess. i recommend this cymbal to anyone who wants to add a unique sound for a good price.

Zildjian ZXT Trashformer Review

By LoganEion

from Urbana, Ohio

I bought this cymbal about two or three months ago and i think it is amazing. It adds a great sound to you kit, it can be used for quick fills or in a solo, it works great for anything really. I would reccomend this cymbal to anyone who is wishing to expand their kit for a cheap price and an amazing sound.

awesome lil' trashy effect

By Gregg Morton

from buffalo,ny

I picked up the 8" version as soon as it came out.Its meant 2 produce a trash can effect that can b used on its own or stacked over or under another cymbal 4 some intersting fx--that it does!! I have it inverted on top of a 14" crash & I have a whole new sound texture in my kit 2 create with--and best of all-ITS CHEAP!! Check it out

ZXT Trashformer

By Michael casto

from Duluth, GA

I got this cymbal for christmas two years ago, and I have been loving every minute that I have owned it. It has a trashy, china/splash shound with a trashy ring. Makes a great second crash cymbal. Be careful, because of it's design, It can become deformed and crack. Mine has yet to do that though.
