This cymbal is suprisingly good. ZBT has some bad cymbals but this is probably the best of that line, and the hats are good. It's not to dirty and has a overall good consistent sound. The bell has a good tone and cuts pretty good, it can be pretty loud if hit hard. The bow of the cymbal is hard to get to loud and if u do it's not very defined, but that's when u hit it pretty hard. I used it live and it sounded great. I recommend it if ur lower on crash, or just not rich.

I usually can make good use of overly loud cymbal. This cymbal is no exception. This cymbal is good for the money that is asked, but the overtones are obnoxious. I actually had to tape paper towels to the bottom of the thing just to get it to sound resonably loud rather that louder than my crash cymbal (which it is). The bell has very good accents but only sounds good with nylon tips.

Make Some Noise

By Joel

from Poland, OH.

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I haven't even been playing drums for a year now, but I've been in many different types of bands over time now as a bass player. As a bass player I have dealt with drummers my whole life... they're a bassists best friend. This is the first ride I have ever bought but I have played many on friends sets... and I love it. It has a decent sounding bell, a great ping, and even sounds good with a hard crash. The ping is higher pitched and has a nice warm tone if you crash into it... the thing I love the most about this ride is the spectrum of tones it generates at different points in the cymbol. I would deffinately reccomend this ride for anyone who cant afford the A custom! It really works well for all kinds of music, I personally use it for hardcore and punk.

Good cymbal

By Tyler

from Waunakee, WI

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I got this a short while after getting the 16 inch crash, which I am more than pleased with. The crash I bought hasn't cracked or dented after 6 months of being the main cymbal thats beat on and both cymbals have a bright sound that beats even the more expensive crashes and rides. It has a good size bell as well. After owning these 2 ZBT's, I am planning on buying the starter pack as well so I can have the 14, 16 and 18 crashes with the hi hats and ride. Overall good cymbals.

Nice ride

By Jimbo

from Reno, NV

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

The Zildjian ZBT Ride cymbal is nice, and affordable. I have owned it for 6 years now, and it is still in great condition. It has a pretty nice sound to it, especially for an entry level ride. You can get a wide range of sounds out of it. It is definitely worth the price.

Zildjian ZBT Ride

By DudeManPDP

from West Miami, Fl

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I first got this ride as part of the ZBT 4 pro pack. It was a decent begginer ride, but as I progressed, I found it less and less accomadating. This ride has many unwanted overtones. And my attempts to dampen it have proved fruitless. I would not recommend purchasing this cymbal. I like Zildjian cymbals, but when it comes to starter cymbals, Paiste's PST5 easily compare with Zildjian's ZHT's, at almost half the cost.

Pingy, But Ringy

By mmmike

from Beaverton, OR

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I got the 20 inch ride, and I'd say it's somewhat versatile. It's got a defined, high-pitched ping, an OK bell, and you might even like to crash this ride cymbal. What I don't like about this cymbal is that it rings for a long time. I tried to use a moongel to dampen the overtones, but it still was ringing. It cracks easily like all sheet cymbals do, but its cheap and awesome as a beginner cymbal. It's worth the price.

An excellent chioce for the money!

By Lee

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I bought a used ZBT ride for $40 at GC here in La Mesa, CA, in excellent condition. I already owned one for my practice kit. I bought A second one for my main kit because, it's just a great ride for the money! The best sound on the ride is in the bow (center), although it has a slightly long sustain. The bell has a great tone but the projection and volume is a little weak. For the price, I can deal with these issues. I definitely recommend this ride!

Most Reliable Ride for My Beginning Years

By Dominick Guerra

from Flushing, Michigan

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

When my dad bought me my first ride, the 20" ZBT ride was it. I have recorded with this ride in my band and it sounded like a $400 ride. I was astounded by its tone and does have some what of a ping!!! This is definatly the ride choice for a beginner and for the money. I think this is the BEST cymbal on the zbt line that actually sounds somewhat professional.

Get this, otherwise you're stupid.

By Frank

from St. Charles, MO

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

This is the perfect ride cymbal for beginners, amateurs, and professionals. This is the one of the nicest ride cymbals and best of all it's cheap. This cymbal is heavy so make sure you have the right stand. (I recommend the sound percussion brand stand because it's very heavy duty.) This ride cuts through sound like a hot knife in butter, it sounds wonderful and is great for any style of music. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RIDE, GET THIS.

Good Ride for the price

By Gio

from Navarre FL

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

A lot of people criticize the Zildjian ZBT series but I think it sounds really good for the price in comparison to other cymbals. When it comes to cymbals, Zildjian is a strong name brand to own. I recently purchased my third drum kit and I got the ZBT series cymbals with this kit which included a ride and they sound much better than the Sabian B8 series I had with my second kit. I've also gone with the lower end Meinl HCS series for my first kit and they didn't sound great either. The cymbals have a brilliant finish and look great. If you have the money to spend on high end cymbals, go for it! Zilidjian ZBT series cymbals are great if you're on a budget.

Very Good Ride/Decent Crash

By Eric

from PA

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I bought this ride as part of the ZBT cymbal pack about 8 months ago, and it is the only cymbal that hasn't cracked on me yet. It is also the only one from that set I really liked. The hats are ok, but worth upgrading. It has a good tone and the bell has a nice ping sound, though it does tend to ring out excessively. I also use this as a crash/ride and I have no complaints on it. I typically play it in a pop punk feel, sometimes post-hardcore, but it manages to fit in. If you're looking for something good and inexpensive I would recommend it.

ZBT ride :(

By Davis Cahill

from Pleasant Garden,NC

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

Ok so to start out im just gonna say that if you play any jazz music then this is NOT the cymbal you want. At first i thought i liked it because of the way the dome/bell sounded, but this cymbal will ring on and on for about 7 seconds.(annoying)if you play stuff like abr or slipknot then i guess it would be fine but overall im just not impressed with this cymbal.

Good Ride

By Zak

from Cincinnati

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

Ive had this ride for about 6 months and its been a good cymbal i guess. There has a been a few signs of soon to be cracks, but it hasnt cracked yet. I am a fairly light hitter. This is a good ride overall. I think the zbt crash is better than this ride

Great Ride

By Matt

from South Bend, IN

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

Great ride! It has a real nice ping, and sounds great for any type of music. One problem is the very slow decay. The bell's about 4" around, so it rings for about 10 minutes. As long as you muffle it and don't use it as a crash, it's a great first or second cymbal. It's really bright and focused. Great buy, but I'd suggest going for the ZBT set, it's not much more for all three cymbals.

Powerful and Cheap, but Washy

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

I bought my Zildjian ZBT ride with the zbt 4 pro pack. Initially, I had no preference as to what cymbals I liked because I was a beginner. But as I got better, I realized that the ride was extremely washy and dirty sounding. It worked in loud situations such as metal or hard rock, but in softer music and jazz, it didn't have the dry tones that you typically associate with that kind of music. You can counter this problem by applying a sumple tissue or Moongel to the cymbal, but it will never compare to a Zldjian Dry Ride or specialized cymbals specifically for jazz or softer settings. Overall, however, it is a very durable cymbal, and works great with all other types of music. The bell provides some good clarity over all the excess overtones, and it actually sounds very delicate after dampening those overtones. At this price, you can't really complain either. Recommended for beginning, intermediate, and poor musicians.

Could Be Better

By MapexDrummer812

from Mentor,Ohio

Comments about Zildjian ZBT Ride Cymbal:

The ZBT ride has a lot of unwanted overtones. the bell is decent, but the bow has a lot of ring. it does have a decent ping, but its just not a good sound. if you are thinking of individually buying this cymbal, i suggest you save your money or look at used cymbals of higher series.
