I was looking for a nice beginner-intermediate set with a hi-hat, ride, and preferably two crashes, and this was the perfect find. Although they are just the entry level cymbals, they still produce great sound. I have not tried the "Pro" ZBTs as opposed to these "Rock" ZBTs but I'm sure they are pretty similar. If they were anymore expensive than what they are now, however, I would have to give it 4 stars because of a few problems, but it is still a decent set. The hi-hits are a bit off when open and still don't have perfect sound when closed but it still sounds okay. The crashes are great in my opinion. And the ride rings forever but still produces a great pingy sound. The last problem was that they never sent me the cymbal bag that is supposed to come with it. It might just be an isolated incident, but I was still kind of bummed. But all in all this is a great beginner-intermediate set and was almost exactly what I wanted (because of the bag problem).

Perfect for starters!

By Andy Milani

from brookfield, IL

I bought this set when i first started playing and i was very satisfied with what i heard. Both crashes and the high hats sound awesome for the price, you can really hear the difference between each of them. The only problem i have is with the ride. Whenever i am playing on the ride; fast, slow, hard, or soft, this thing always rings forever. if i hit it hard, it even rings over the other sounds and it keeps going even if i grab it with my fingers. This set of cymbals definately gets the job done for a starter though, the price is good and theres no reason to go all out with expensive cymbals until you try these and feel out your preferences.

ZBT great sound on a budget

By Gio

from Navarre FL

A lot of people criticize the Zildjian ZBT series but I think it sounds really good for the price in comparison to other cymbals. When it comes to cymbals, Zildjian is a strong name brand to own. I recently purchased my third drum kit and I got the ZBT series cymbals with this kit and they sound much better than the Sabian B8 series I had with my second kit. I've also gone with the lower end Meinl HCS series for my first kit and they didn't sound great either. The cymbals have a brilliant finish and look great. If you have the money to spend on high end cymbals, go for it! Zilidjian ZBT series cymbals are great if you're on a budget.

Okay cymbals

By taylo

from new orleans, louisiana

I got these cymbals today, and i have a love/ hate relationship with them. i like them because they give me a bunch of cymbals to play on, but they dented REAL EASILY! the only reason i got them is because they are cheaper than buying one cymbal for the same price. if u want something to just practice on and not have to worry about losing money from destroying cymbals, get these.

AMAZING!

By Demetrius Mayhem

from Columbus, OH

I got these in the mail today and these cymbals are AMAZING! These are a huge upgrade from the starter cymbals that came with my set. All in all 4 great cymbals for a great price. Don't listen to anyone who says you don't get the free 18" Crash with the pack because YOU DO! YES FREE 18" CRASH!

They lived up to my expectations.

By Cliff Yankovich

from Ada, MI

They are entry level Zildjians - I was not expecting that they would have the sound of the cymbals that cost 3 to 5 times as much. I am a hobbyist - kit sits at home and provides me with fun and I play with other folks once in a while. I bought a used Ludwig kit that came with Sabian Solar cymbals about 18 months ago. The ZBT's are head and shoulders above the Solars for sure. I love the sustain (ring) of the crashes and I don't have to hit these anywhere near as hard as the Sabians for them to be heard. The appearance is excellent. Another thing I was very pleased with is that they are made in the US. Anytime I can buy a product made here I feel better about it. Very happy with them. Will probably save my $$ for an even better set of Ziljians in the future.

cha-ching $$$

By O.S. Chops

from Flint, Mi.

This pack is a homerun for any rocker or metal head. These cymbals really project in every way from the chikaching of the hats to the roof rattling crash of the 16 and freebee 18. The 20in rock ride has a shimmering effect that has a good susstain, I had a set of the Sabian B8's and the zbt pro's and this pack is what you want if rock and metal is your poison, trust me these will rock your roof off..

Short Lasting Cymbals

By Alex

from Pennsylvania

These cymbals are beginner at most and no better than a Sabian B8 set. They are very nice cymbals for someone beginning to drum but lose sound very easily. I've had them for 4 years and they are now starting to go higher-pitched and not a nice sound at all. If you like a trashier sound with ur crashes, buy these cymbals. The ride is terrible quality. Hi-hat is actually very nice, the best out of all 4
